Quarterback and tight end stacks

Best Quarterback and Tight End Stacks for Fantasy Football

Quarterback and wide receiver duos have dominated the game of fantasy football for years as team owners try to double up on an offense that projects to be good. However, quarterback and tight end combinations are rising in popularity year by year. Here are three of the best quarterback and tight end stacks for fantasy football in 2024.

Jared Goff and Sam LaPorta

Jared Goff was mentioned a few weeks ago in an article for the best quarterback and wide receiver stacks with Amon-Ra St. Brown. Let’s take it even further by stacking Goff and Sam LaPorta. LaPorta finished as the best tight end in fantasy football last year in both standard and PPR formats as a rookie. He’s not going to be slowing down anytime soon.

As for Goff, he knows LaPorta is a safety net when St. Brown or Jameson Williams aren’t open down field. He targeted LaPorta 120 times last year and put a lot of trust in his rookie tight end. That chemistry won’t disappear, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see LaPorta take on even more of a role in his second year.

If you really want to get aggressive (or if you’re a Lions fan), it’s not out of the question to consider a Goff/St. Brown/LaPorta stack especially if the cards fall into your lap. Those who are risk seekers may consider that trio.

Kyler Murray and Trey McBride

This one may surprise people the same way Trey McBride surprised fantasy football players last season. Even with backup quarterbacks throwing the ball, McBride turned a corner in Week 6 and did not look back. Had it not been for a slow start, he would’ve finished higher than TE7. He became a target machine in the Cardinals offense.

The return of a healthy Kyler Murray will only help McBride’s stats. There’s a chance Marvin Harrison Jr. could take away some targets, but the opposite may in fact happen. Teams will become so dialed in on trying to eliminate Harrison that McBride becomes the beneficiary and sees more targets. Harrison’s presence should only help McBride and not hurt his production.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce

Last but certainly not least is Ol’ Reliable with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Kelce may be aging, but he’s not showing any signs of slowing down just yet. He had just two games last year where he scored less than 10 fantasy points per game in PPR leagues and six games where he scored less than eight points in standard leagues.

At this point in his career, it’s not worth trying to have a “hot take” and bet against Mahomes. One way or another he will find a way to win and be successful. In six full seasons leading the Chiefs, he has yet to throw for under 4,000 yards and hasn’t thrown less than 25 touchdown passes in a single season. His lowest touchdown-to-interception ratio was 2:1 in 2023.
