Here is the Miami Dolphins host 42-sack free agent Emmanuel Ogbah but the Baltimore Ravens may be favorites for the edge rusher too.

The Miami Dolphins host 42-sack free agent Emmanuel Ogbah but the Baltimore Ravens may be favorites this upcoming season for him. According to a report, the Dolphins are looking to find a replacement at the edge rushing position where they’re bringing in Ogbah for a visit this week in light of Shaquil Barrett‘s retirement. He may be the best available pass rusher for a team that needs to excel at the stop-gap option for the Dolphins. Miami doesn’t have any other options on hand since Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb and Cameron Goode have all been on the PUP list since last week.

Ogbah isn’t perfect and has been dealing with injuries but he’s a cost-effective option for a team that needs help in their pass-rushing unit. The Dolphins originally let him go due to salary cap but an agreement to a new contract is imminent for a team that needs emergency depth. However, Ogbah was productive last year after recording 5.5 sacks in only 25 percent of the defensive snaps. The timing is perfect for both sides to resolve their differences and come to a negotiation even if it means returning for one more year until the Dolphins get their guys back to 100 percent.

However, he might find a better fit with the Ravens because they have a larger championship window and a couple of key defensive players who can take this team to the next level. Baltimore is relying on a young group this upcoming year since they’re hoping that Odafe Oweh can take it up a notch. David Ojabo is returning to full form since this will be his first year of full health in the league. The only thing they need left is some veteran leadership to keep this group intact.

Other Potential Destinations

Kansas City Chiefs

Getting after the quarterback this season for the Chiefs will now be more than important. L’Jarius Sneed is gone so they need some type of star veteran who can get some pressure on the offense even though they’re bringing back Chris Jones. However, Ogbah is a fine insurance policy for a team that doesn’t have a lot of players who have been special like Felix Anudike-Uzomah. Jones can’t do it alone for the pass-rushing unit so it would be smart for the Chiefs to bring back a familiar face on a cheap contract.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints have been taking a gamble on their defense rather than their offense. This means they should probably continue to bolster their defense to give the Saints more chances at reps on offense. Derek Carr, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are not going to take this team very far knowing that the defense is weak as well. However, the team could go into a scenario where the Bears once were with the strong defense they had.

This would give them a decent run in the playoffs and help supply Carr with more years to improve his game so he can stay around the team. Chase Young is joining the defense on a one-year deal but he has his moments of when he wants to be good. However, he’s on track to be a reliant force for the team but Ogbah coming in would probably ensure more potential.

Carolina Panthers

No one should be surprised that the Panthers are looking like the next Detroit Lions of the NFC since they’ve been getting a supporting cast for Bryce Young. The pressure is on him so the best thing the Panthers could do is add Ogbah to the mix. They were able to add Jadeveon Clowney since losing Brian Burns to help alongside Shaq Thompson. However, Ogbah’s addition could supply the team with further veteran insurance for Clowney to work with him to make sure the youth talent is doing their work.
