Jonathon Brooks Dynasty Outlook

Jonathon Brooks' dynasty outlook is strong for 2024! The rookie joins a Carolina Panthers backfield with a lot of question marks.

Jonathon Brooks Dynasty Outlook

Top of the Class for a Reason

Jonathon Brooks’ dynasty outlook is extremely positive after he was the first running back drafted in April. No other running back in college football ran for six yards per carry with the number of carries he received. The rookie running back is also a menace in the red zone as he rushed for 10 touchdowns last year with the Texas Longhorns.

Running backs like Brooks don’t come around all the time. He thrived in different schemes for the Longhorns in different run schemes, boosting his draft stock. This attribute is what made him so attractive to the Carolina Panthers in the second round. Realistically, Brooks could have been a first-rounder but fell due to the number of wide receivers and offensive linemen being selected.

Repaired ACL Shouldn’t be An Issue

Brooks won’t be medically cleared until just before training camp starts in July, but that’s not a problem. His tape at Texas speaks for itself, fewer reps in July won’t slow him down. Brooks handled the gauntlet of the Big 12 just fine, and he will do the same in the NFC South.

Brooks will be eased into the lead role in Carolina because of his knee surgery. However, there haven’t been any setbacks to this point for the former Longhorn running back. Players come back from ACL surgeries all the time and have no issues, so Brooks should not be any different.

The Tape Speaks for Itself

Just watch any tape from Brooks at Texas: he’s the real deal. Spare me the “hype” from Panthers head coach David Canales about Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders. He’s a first-year head coach, what else is he going to say about them? The selection of Brooks speaks for itself about how Canales really felt about them as players.

Canales likes to run the football, and Brooks has a lot of potential. The 20-year-old running back has a lot of tread on the tires after sitting behind Bijan Robinson for his first two seasons with the Longhorns. Once he took over the reins, the rest is history.

Jonathon Brooks Dynasty Outlook in 2024

There’s no question that the sky is the limit for Brooks in 2024 and beyond. It might be a bit of a slow start as he eases into things, but selecting Brooks will pay off. Carolina might have to learn the hard way after seeing Hubbard and Sanders inevitably struggle in the backfield.

Brooks is the ninth running back on KeepTradeCut’s dynasty rankings and sits in Tier 12 of 20. While the tier may be some concern for dynasty players, keep in mind that just five running backs are in the top 10 tiers. There’s not much emphasis on running backs in dynasty leagues, but Brooks has the potential to change that philosophy.

Whether you are just starting a dynasty league this season or have been a member of one for years, Brooks is a must-draft player. Don’t be the person who ignores running backs as they truly help win championships.
