Buffalo Bills Announce 2024 Training Camp Location, Dates, Times

The Buffalo Bills face an important training camp after an offseason of widespread roster changes. The crucial practices kick off on July 24.

The Buffalo Bills announced their complete training camp schedule on Monday. The team’s preseason practices will take place at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford, New York.

Pittsford, a suburb of Rochester, is about an 80-minute drive from Buffalo. It’ll be the 23rd year St. John Fisher has hosted the Bills for camp. It’s a partnership that began in 2000 and has continued aside from a two-year hiatus during the COVID years.

The Bills are facing their most important training camp in recent memory. Personnel changes on both sides of the ball created questions about whether they’re still a Super Bowl contender. Quarterback Josh Allen will be expected to lead the franchise through the transition period.

What To Watch In Training Camp, Preseason

The Bills have four main points of interest for training camp: wide receiver, interior offensive line, cornerback depth, and safety.

Buffalo traded longtime No. 1 receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. It also allowed No. 2 wideout Gabe Davis to leave in free agency, and he eventually signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. That leaves 241 targets up for grabs in 2024.

Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, and rookie Keon Coleman will likely start, but it’s a crowded competition. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Chase Claypool, Mack Hollins, Andy Isabella, KJ Hamler, and Justin Shorter are also fighting for a chance to catch passes from Allen this Fall.

Along the offensive front, the trio of left tackle Dion Dawkins, right guard O’Cyrus Torrence, and right tackle Spencer Brown are probably locked in. Guard David Edwards and rookie center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger figure to battle for one spot, with the versatile Connor McGovern playing whichever role isn’t filled.

Rasul Douglas, Christian Benford, and slot Taron Johnson are a high-end cornerback trio. Ample questions remain behind them at corner, though. The recent emergence of 2022 first-round pick Kaiir Elam has been a welcome sight ahead of training camp.

Finally, the battle to replace the elite safety duo of Micah Hyde (contemplating retirement) and Jordan Poyer (signed with the Miami Dolphins) will be critical. Taylor Rapp, Mike Edwards, and rookie Cole Bishop lead the pack, though Hyde has suggested he may return.

All those questions will be answered before the Bills kick off the regular season with a Week 1 clash against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 8.
