Chicago Bears Mock Draft 2.0

In Isaac Zuniga's latest Chicago Bears mock draft, the Bears make a surprising move to jump into the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Chicago Bears Mock Draft

The Chicago Bears have put together a formidable roster. Part of forming the roster was using draft picks in exchange for key players like Montez Sweat and Keenan Allen. Consequently, the Bears enter the 2024 NFL Draft with the fewest selections. Bears fans shouldn’t be surprised when Ryan Poles makes a trade or two during the draft to acquire more picks…or even get back in the draft. It’s time to see what might unfold in this Chicago Bears mock draft.

Chicago Bears Mock Draft 2.0

Round 1, Pick 1: QB Caleb Williams, USC

No surprise Caleb Williams is the first overall pick for the Chicago Bears. With the recent trade of Justin Fields, the Bears have a glaring need at quarterback. Williams threw for 93 touchdowns with just 14 interceptions in his college career. He’s special and should become the Bears franchise quarterback for the next decade plus. Bears fans should be excited to have Williams become their guy at quarterback. With an electric and charismatic personality, it’ll be a shakeup from Fields’ reserved nature.

Round 1, Pick 9: WR Rome Odunze, UW

A fan favorite, Rome Odunze is an absolute stud and will be a difference-maker for the Bears. Although the Bears have two WR1s in D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen, adding Odunze in the mix would create one of the best wide receiver trios in the NFL. Odunze’s staggering statistics from his final season at Washington speak volumes: 87 receptions, 1640 yards, and 13 touchdowns. His elite contested catching ability, along with his size and strength, are a deadly combination. The Bears can enter the 2024 season with three WR1s; that’s unheard of!

Round 2, Pick 40: EDGE Chop Robinson, PSU

Surprise! The Bears are back in the second round! Ironically, pick 40 was the pick the Bears sent for Montez Sweat. It’s safe to say the Sweat trade was a success for the Bears, yet they still need another edge rusher to complete the defensive line.

Chop Robinson is an impactful pass rusher who plays with 100% intensity every snap. His tenacity on the field makes it hard for offensive linemen to block him. While Robinson undeniably possesses first-round talent, the draft often sees highly skilled prospects slip into the second round. If Robinson were to fall to the early second round, a team like the Bears might be interested in trading up to draft him. Although it may cost them some draft capital, it’ll be worth it for an exceptional athlete like Chop Robinson.

Chicago Bears Receive: Pick 40

Round 3, Pick 75: OG Christian Mahogany, BC

The Bears love to run the ball on offense, and Christian Mahogany is the perfect guy to have up front in the trenches. Mahogany is a mauler who can use his elite athleticism to pull around and knock down defenders. He can come into a perfect situation, learning under Tevin Jenkins and Nate Davis until it’s his time to shine.

Round 4, Pick 122: DT Leonard Taylor III, Miami

The Bears love their defensive tackles, and Leonard Taylor is a perfect scheme fit for them. His ability to overwhelm blockers with his incredible strength and disrupt the interior is a game-changer. As a result, he has an extremely high upside and should be a solid addition.
