Famous Sportscaster Has High Praise for Potential No.1 Draft Pick

Former college quarterback and American sportscaster Kirk Herbstreit has high expectations and praise for Caleb Williams.

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee show, American sportscaster Kirk Herbstreit used the terms “ridiculous” and “insane” to express his enthusiasm for Caleb Williams. Herbstreit also highlighted the admiration Williams receives from his teammates and coaches. Despite attempts to downplay Williams as a person, Herbstreit emphasized that superficial factors like pink accessories don’t determine his value as a quarterback. Instead, his impressive on-field performance speaks volumes.

Kirk Herbstreit Believes Caleb Williams Is The Real Deal

What Separates Caleb Williams From The Rest Of The Pack

There are incredibly high expectations for the consensus No.1 overall pick. Caleb Williams has garnered comparisons to Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, and he acknowledges it and is humbled by the comparisons. However, Williams is determined not to emulate Mahomes but to carve his own path. Caleb’s physical skill set and ability to create are reasons Herbstreit suggested he is head and shoulders above other quarterbacks in terms of talent.

What sets Williams apart? He can control the outcome of every game he plays in. That’s a unique trait that only a few possess: Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, and Joe Montana. Many believe that Caleb Williams possesses this unique trait. Although Williams hasn’t played a snap in the NFL, he appears to have what it takes to become the next great quarterback. In two seasons at USC, Williams threw for 8,170 yards, 72 touchdowns, and only ten interceptions. Video game numbers for a guy on track to become the first overall pick for the Chicago Bears, a team on the rise.

The Bears Are Coming

Kirk Herbstreit believes the Bears are trending in the right direction. They have added talent on both sides, from Keenan Allen and D’Andre Swift to Montez Sweat; the Bears are becoming a formidable NFL team. Herbstreit also commented that the Bears would be the next “Detroit Lions.” “The Bears are coming, so be ready,” Herbstreit added. By adding a superstar in Caleb Williams to the mix, the Bears have a real shot at contending for the NFC North title next season.

GM Ryan Poles’ Thoughts On Caleb Williams

Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan Poles also appeared on the Pat McAfee show to share his thoughts on Caleb Williams. McAfee asked Poles if there were any misconceptions regarding Williams and what the process of getting to know him was like and here’s what Poles had to say.

“You want to know does he have humility and can he self-assess and say I will take ownership. He’s checked all those boxes so far. I’ve been encouraged by the time that we have spent with him. The things that we have learned in terms of does he fit our culture. And can he be a guy who helps take the Chicago Bears to the next level.”

The revamped Bears team has garnered widespread attention, and the big question is whether the Bears and Williams can live up to the hype. The signs are pointing to immediate success in Chicago, and it’s time to see what’s in store for Williams and the Bears next season.
