L’Jarius Sneed joins his new team after yet another fantastic season with Kansas City. After spending the majority of his first three seasons playing in the slot, Sneed moved outside for the majority of 2023. The move paid dividends, as the Chiefs finished the season with one of the best defenses in football. Starting in 16 games, the cornerback ended the year with two interceptions, 78 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, three quarterback hits, and 14 passes defended.

Sneed originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Kansas City Chiefs, the Lousiana Tech product spent a decent amount of the season on the short-term injured reserve. However, he was productive when healthy, recording three interceptions, seven passes defended, two sacks, 41 tackles, and two tackles-for-loss in nine games. The Chiefs made it all the way to the Super Bowl before losing to Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The cornerback built on his promising rookie season to earn a full-time starting job in 2021. Starting in 15 games, L’Jarius Sneed finished the second year of his contract with two interceptions, eight passes defended, one sack, 76 tackles, and seven tackles-for-loss. The Chiefs fought their way to the AFC Championship Game before falling to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sneed returned to the same role in 2022 and had yet another strong season. Starting in all 17 games, the cornerback recorded three interceptions, 11 passes defended, three forced fumbles, 3.5 sacks, 108 tackles, and five tackles-for-loss. Kansas City won their second Super Bowl of the Patrick Mahomes Era, but only the first one of Sneed’s career.

Since signing his rookie contract, L’Jarius Sneed has recorded 10 interceptions and broken up 40 passes.
