Zack Moss, Cincinnati Bengals, Agree to Contract – Cut Joe Mixon
Zack Moss had a contract year to remember in 2023. During the final year of his rookie deal, Moss established himself as a solid running back in his own right. With Jonathan Taylor only playing in 10 games, Moss stepped up and recorded 794 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 183 attempts to go along with 27 receptions for 192 yards and two additional scores. He was a key part of an upstart Colts team that almost made the playoffs despite losing first-round quarterback Anthony Richardson to injury.
Zack Moss originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Buffalo Bills, the Utah product started his career in a timeshare with Devin Singletary. Appearing in 13 games, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with 481 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 112 carries as the Bills made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game.
Zack Moss spent the 2021 offseason fighting for the starting job, but ultimately lost that battle. In total, the second-year pro recorded just 345 yards and four touchdowns on 96 total rushing attempts.
Moss’s role continued to decrease in 2022, as he recorded just 91 rushing yards on 17 attempts through the first five games of the season. Eventually, the Bills decided to trade him to the Indianapolis Colts, and the change of scenery helped his career. Appearing in eight games while making three starts, Moss recorded 365 rushing yards and one touchdown on 76 carries.
Since signing his rookie contract, Zack Moss has appeared in 53 games while making 11 starts. While on the field, the Utah product has recorded 2,076 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 484 carries.
