Pass rusher Jonathan Greenard had a season to remember in the final year of his contract. Starting and appearing in 15 games, the former third-round pick finished his rookie contract with 12.5 sacks, 52 tackles, 15 tackles-for-loss, and 22 quarterback hits. The Texans had a similarly strong season, winning the AFC South crown and making it to the AFC Divisional Round in the first year of the C.J. Stroud Era.

Jonathan Greenard officially entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Houston Texans, the Florida product spent the majority of his rookie year in a reserve role. Appearing in 13 games while making just one start, the pass rusher finished his inaugural season with just one sack, 19 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and three quarterback hits.

Despite the slow start to his career, Greenard made a Year 2 leap and earned a full-time starting job in 2021. Starting and appearing in 12 games, the Florida product finished the season with eight sacks, 33 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, and 12 quarterback hits. The Texans themselves had a rough season, going 4-13 with rookie third-round pick Davis Mills as their primary quarterback.

Injuries prevented Greenard from building on this promising campaign in 2022. Appearing in eight games while making four starts, the defensive lineman finished the season with 1.5 sacks, 16 tackles, six tackles-for-loss, four quarterback hits, and one interception. Much like Greenard, the Texans had a bad season, going 3-13-1 while finishing with the second-worst record in football.

Since signing his rookie contract, Jonathan Greenard has appeared in 48 games while making 32 starts. While on the field, the Florida product has recorded 23 sacks, 120 tackles, 32 tackles-for-loss, and 41 quarterback hits.
