With the majority of the coaching staff in place, the Eagles and their fans have started to look at the offseason. One of the most crucial events of the offseason is the NFL Draft, which has been starting to get more and more buzz earlier in the process. Many expert analysts have published their first mock draft of the year and have had some interesting selections for the Eagles. Even though it’s early in the draft process, it can be valuable to look at these potential avenues the Eagles might explore. The Eagles still have a lot to do themselves in terms of inner-team decisions and free agency, but let’s look at some potential Eagles Draft targets that experts believe could end up in Philadelphia by May.
Philadelphia Eagles Draft Targets via Expert Mock Drafts
Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma
Daniel Jeremiah’s mock draft dropped an interesting take on who the Eagles might select in April. He mocked the talented Oklahoma offensive tackle, Tyler Guyton, to the Eagles with the 22nd pick. Guyton has gotten a lot of buzz after a strong performance at the Senior Bowl. He’s a massive tackle with great length and athleticism. He has all the unteachable traits an elite offensive tackle needs and has also gotten an endorsement from Lane Johnson as well. However, for an Eagles team that crashed down the stretch, would it be wise to spend their first-round pick on a player who might not see the field much in 2024? It would be another pick to solidify the future of the Eagles but can be negative in the short term. For what it’s worth, ESPN’s Mel Kiper also mocked an offensive tackle in Taliese Fuaga to the Eagles as well.
Cornerback: Kool-aid Mckinstry, Alabama, Quinyon Mitchell, Toledo, Nate Wiggins, Clemson and More
By far the most popular position for the Eagles in expert mock drafts is cornerback, and there’s a plethora to choose from. Kool-aid McKinstry, Quinyon Mitchell, Nate Wiggins, Terrion Arnold (Alabama), and Kamari Lassiter (Georgia) have all been mocked to the Eagles. It’s no surprise, as the Eagles secondary heavily struggled throughout the season. Younger players in Kelee Ringo and Eli Ricks could become quality starters, but cornerback should still be a big Eagles draft target. As for what corner the Eagles might select, the NFL combine could help clear the picture of who will be there for the Eagles to take. Kool-aid McKinstry and Nate Wiggins seem to be the ones most likely to be there for the Eagles at this point of the process. However, keep an eye on T.J. Tampa from Iowa State as well.
Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
With Kellen Moore, it’s possible the Eagles could target a third wide receiver, higher than anyone thinks. In a collection of CBS Sports Mock Drafts, Ryan Wilson mocked Keon Coleman, the receiver from Florida State to the Eagles. Keon Coleman is a big wide receiver with real athleticism. He made highlight-reel plays routinely in college and is reminiscent of George Pickens in terms of pure physical ability. However, he does have struggles with route-running and separating from corners. Regardless of whether the pick is Coleman or not, a receiver for the first round of the Eagles is interesting. Receiver isn’t a huge Eagles draft need, but taking another one in a stacked draft class could reap insane benefits for the Eagles offense.
