5 Teams That Could Trade For Disgruntled All-Pro

Dallas Cowboys All-Pro guard Zack Martin is reportedly considering holding out from training camp and could be a trade target.
Dallas Cowboys 2023

Dallas Cowboys superstar offensive guard Zack Martin reportedly wants a new contract, which means that a trade isn’t off the table. The six-time All-Pro is reportedly considering sitting out training camp, and there is a chance that Dallas simply decides to part ways with the soon-to-be 33-year-old.

Top 5 Zack Martin Trade Destinations

Now, to be clear, a Zack Martin trade isn’t particularly likely. The Cowboys have one of the best rosters in the NFL, and they don’t want to make their team any worse in 2023. However, as noted by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys have a lot of players due for a pay raise, and if they have to choose between re-signing CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, and Zack Martin, Martin will be the odd man out.

Despite his advanced age, Martin is still one of the best in the league at his position and should have plenty of suitors. That being said, if a Zack Martin trade actually happens, the following five teams have the highest odds of actually pulling it off.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are going all-in to try and take advantage of a weak NFC South. While the team has added quite a few new faces, they still need help along the interior offensive line. Cesar Ruiz is not a starting-caliber guard, and while the training camp battle between him and rookie Nick Saldiveri could have fun, Zack Martin would provide some much-needed security at the position.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennesee Titans have the worst offensive line in football by a considerable margin. While some believed that the Titans would trade Ryan Tannehill and focus on building their future, the acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins tells us that this team plans to compete in 2023. With that in mind, Tennessee will need to do something to fix their offensive line, and orchestrating a trade for Zack Martin would be a great way to improve the unit.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are AFC South favorites and should be one of the better teams in the conference. However, right now the biggest weakness on this team is the offensive line. Trevor Lawrence looks like one of the best young quarterbacks in the game, and if he gets hurt, Jacksonville’s season is effectively over. The Jaguars do not shy away from making big moves, and a trade for Zack Martin would go a long way in securing the division title.

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have their franchise quarterback in Bryce Young. Now, they need to make sure that he actually has the proper tools to succeed. Ikem Eknownu looked like the real deal last year, so the tackle position is set, but the interior offensive line still needs a lot of work. Carolina’s offensive weapons are among the worst in the league, so they’ll need a strong offensive line to compensate for that.

Miami Dolphins

Last year, Tua Tagovailoa finally proved that he has what it takes to be the face of the Miami Dolphins when healthy. Unfortunately, the quarterback took a beating and missed extended time with concussions. The Dolphins need Tagovailoa healthy if they want to compete in a talented AFC East, and their offensive line isn’t that great. They can fix that issue with Zack Martin and possibly create the most well-rounded roster in the division.
