Entering the 2023 regular season, Dan Feeney will be 29 years old and has not started more than five games in a season since 2020. Over the past two seasons, Dan Feeney has become a fan-favorite amongst Jets fans. Between his mullet and mustache, Feeney has been more than just a backup interior offensive lineman. Feeney has been called upon multiple times, filling in on the spot for injured players, and holding his own… at times.

Feeney was not perfect for Gang Green, but his experience and versatility cannot be underestimated. Since signing with Gang Green in 2021, Feeney has played in 33 total games, making seven total starts. In that time, Feeney was called for three penalties, giving up only one sack.

Prior to his time in New York, Dan Feeney was a full-time starter for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017-2020, playing nearly 4,000 snaps. However, during that time, the offensive line in Los Angeles was suspect, as Feeney’s development became stagnant, with penalties playing a large role. Prior to the final year of his rookie contract, Feeney switched from left guard to center, ultimately leading to similar results. Thus, leading the Chargers to move on from Feeney after four seasons.

Dan Feeney was selected with the 71st overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Chargers. The third-round pick was a highly-touted prospect in the pre-draft process after years of honors in the Big Ten. At 6’4″ and 310 pounds, Feeney does not bring overpowering strength to the table. Rather, a high football IQ and familiarity with zone-blocking schemes. Feeney was also a respected player in the locker room, as a two-time team captain.
