In 2022, Beachum was essentially the last man standing for the Cardinals after the entire offensive line was decimated by the injury bug. He has been an underrated part of the Cardinals offense since joining the franchise in 2020. Despite a wilting offensive line in 2022, Beachum was as good as ever. He allowed just five sacks in 1178 offensive snaps (second in the league among tackles). His performances were rewarded with a very respectable 70.6 grade from PFF. Beachum was also the team’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee.

The undersized offensive tackle was originally drafted by the Steelers out of SMU in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was the final tackle taken and sat behind Max Starks, Marcus Gilbert, Mike Adams, and Chris Scott on the depth chart in his rookie year. Despite this, as the third-string left tackle, Beachum was thrust into starting five games for the team due to injuries (playing at right tackle).

By the end of his tenure with the Steelers, Beachum was the team’s starting left tackle. However, finishing 2015 on injured reserve, Beachum and the Steelers parted ways. One year with the Jaguars was followed by three with the Jets. With the Jaguars, Beachum was underwhelming. However, he found his groove again with the Jets, where he earned the starting left tackle job. In his first year in New York (2017), Beachum posted an impressive 72.7 PFF grade.

It was after his tenure with the Jets that Beachum reinvented his play. Originally a left tackle, Beachum played as the team’s right tackle opposite D.J. Humphries. Beachum was pivotal in the team’s successful 2021 season, where he provided good stability at the right tackle position. His partnership with right guard Justin Murray was particularly impressive.
