After doing his due diligence on potential teams, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr reportedly will not waive his no trade clause. This means Carr will become a free agent following the Super Bowl and can sign with any team, Carr, a former second-round pick, spent the entirety of his NFL career with the Raiders prior to today.

Derek Carr Won’t Accept Trade, Opts For Free Agency
Derek Carr began the 2022 season as the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders. Paired with first-year head coach Josh McDaniels, most expected the Raiders to take a leap after making the playoffs in 2021. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, as Carr took a step back in his first year with the longtime New England Patriots offensive coordinator. The Raiders went 6-9 through their first 15 games before McDaniels decided to bench Carr and hand the reigns to Jarrett Stidham. In total, Carr made 15 starts, completing 60.8% of his passes for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. At the time of his benching, the 14 interceptions led the league.
Carr initially began his career as a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Selected by the Oakland Raiders, the Fresno State product won the starting job out of training camp and began the year under center. There were some growing pains, as the quarterback finished his first season completing 58.1% of his passes for 3,270 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. However, he improved from there, as he completed 61.1% of his passes for 3,987 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 2015 while earning his first Pro Bowl nomination.
Carr’s best season likely came in 2016. Starting in 15 games, the quarterback finished the season completing 62.8% of his passes for 3,937 yards, 28 touchdowns, and six interceptions while guiding the Raiders to the playoffs. Unfortunately, he couldn’t play in the postseason due to an injury.
Throughout the course of his career, Carr has completed 64.6% of his passes for 35,222 yards, 217 touchdowns, and 99 interceptions while making 142 starts. Carr has made the Pro Bowl on three separate occasions, with his most recent appearance coming all the way back in 2017.
