The Jacksonville Jaguars Are A Dangerous Team for the Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are favorites to beat the Jaguars on Saturday. The Chiefs better be ready for a young hungry team.

The NFL Divisional Round starts next weekend. There is no doubt the Kansas City Chiefs are the overwhelming favorite not only to beat the Jaguars, but to win the AFC and a likely pick to win it all.

Obviously, the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals may have something to say about this too. Still, the Chiefs remain the consistent staple the last few years. As long as the Chiefs remain with Andy Reid paired with Patrick Mahomes — the Chiefs will always be among the elites.

Being elite comes with a bullseye though. The New Kids on the Block are no longer the Chiefs of old. The lovable losers who crashed and burned early on in the playoffs. The team had history — even with the legend Joe Montana providing national prominence. The Chiefs were known to be a contender — now the team plays the role of the bully.

The Jaguars Are A Dangerous Team for the Chiefs

And the team coming to Kansas City on Saturday is looking to beat them with house money. The Jacksonville Jaguars not only made a run to clinch a playoff spot. The Jags are showing one game is not enough. Coming back from an insurmountable deficit proves this team believes in winning now versus later.

After winning the game this past weekend, head coach Doug Peterson was asked about the resilience of quarterback Trevor Lawrence after throwing four interceptions in the first half. “I played with one of the best quarterbacks ever in Brett Favre,” said Pederson. ”And there were times when he didn’t have the best first half and he came back in the second half and light it up. That’s what I love about Trevor, his demeanor and his aggressiveness and his ability to forget and move on.”

The great quarterbacks in the history of the NFL all have the same trait. Usually, this is a trait built over time — years in some example. Lawrence in his second year after a coaching debacle by Urban Meyer showed his “it” factor on live TV in his first playoff appearance.

Trevor Lawrence Looking To Be the Next Phenom

So now that the Jaguars have turned the franchise around — what can fans expect next? It’s one thing to come back on a team like the Los Angeles Chargers who have a past of blowing leads late. The Jaguars next on the agenda is the bully on the street — the Kansas City Chiefs.

Expect the mainstream media to give full credit to the Jaguars. The undying spirit to come back when most had them getting eliminated after the first half. Don’t be fooled. Make no mistake in underestimating a team with nothing to lose.

A team with nothing to lose is dangerous. Especially after coming off a win to inspire Duval County in Jacksonville. The Jags have averaged over 27 points a game in the last three. While just a year ago, the point total sat at a minute 14.1 points a game.

Chiefs Defense Prepare for Plenty of Firepower

Their defense in the last three games allowed only 303 yards a game. No one in their right mind would bet on the Jags over the Chiefs this Saturday. The focus will be squarely on the outcome of the Bills vs Bengals game. As it should. That game is the one everyone wants to see.

Be that as it may, the Chiefs best be fully prepared for a young confident team looking to knock out the AFC bully. Add a Super Bowl wing coach and this Jaguars team is way ahead of schedule. Don’t be surprised if the Jaguars shock the world.
