Week 15 DraftKings Plays: Alvin Kamara, Chris Moore, and More

Week 15 DraftKings Plays - Alvin Kamara and Chris Moore should have fantastic outings in DFS and should lead to a hefty payout.
Week 15 DraftKings

Just like that, we already have 14 weeks of NFL football in the books. One of my favorite parts is fantasy football. One of my favorite aspects of fantasy football has become playing on DraftKings. Every week is like a new puzzle to figure out. Whether you are more of a cash game player or a tournament player, each presents a unique challenge. Let’s take a look at my favorite Week 15 DraftKings plays.

Week 15 DraftKings Plays

Week 14 Recap

It’s always good to be completely transparent and demonstrate accountability. That’s what I like to do with everything I do, and that also goes for fantasy football. Whether it’s bold takes or DraftKings recommendations, I always like to keep track of wins and losses. It’s not only good for the readers to know, but it also helps me learn from mistakes moving forward.

Looking back at Week 14, it was a solid week for recommendations. This week 48% of my recommendations hit the 2.5x value we look for in cash game lineups. This time the quarterback group led the way at an 80% success rate. Meanwhile, the running back group brought up the rear at a 28.6% success rate. Personally, it was another profitable week. We’ll look to get it going even better with the picks and get more profits in the Week 15 DraftKings plays.

  • Week 14 – $184 → $111 ($73 LOSS)
  • Year Total – $2,984 → $3,330 ($346 PROFIT)

Quarterbacks

Justin Herbert (LAC) – $7,200 v TEN

Justin Herbert started off 2022 right where he left off in 2021. Then his season took a dive after he suffered a rib injury that hampered his play. On top of that, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams haven’t been healthy for most of the year either. They both are finally healthy and Herbert is heating up. He’s scored at least 20 DraftKings points in four straight games now and is playing great football.

This week he gets one of the juiciest matchups a quarterback can hope for against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are an extreme pass funnel since they stop the run so well. Teams have simply decided they are going to pass early and often against their porous secondary. The Los Angeles Chargers are not a very good running team as is so this should line up perfectly for Herbert.

The Titans also allow the second-most DraftKings points to quarterbacks this year. This game also has a nice combined total of 46.5 points and will be played in a dome. Add it all up and Herbert looks like one of the best Week 15 DraftKings plays.

Mac Jones (NE) – $5,000 @ LV

Speaking of great matchups, Mac Jones gets a date with the Las Vegas Raiders this week. The Raiders are allowing the sixth-most DraftKings points to quarterbacks in 2022. Jones isn’t known for his gaudy numbers by any means but he is a serviceable quarterback that can take advantage of a good matchup.

Just a few weeks ago he put up 26.2 DraftKings points against the Minnesota Vikings in a similar game environment to this one. The Raiders allow more production through the air than on the ground even to the running backs. They also have a good enough offense to push other teams into needing to score more.

This game will also be played in a dome which helps both offenses as well. The New England Patriots are one-point underdogs in a game with a solid 44.5-point combined total. Jones’ $5,000 salary is cheaper than some backup quarterbacks and simply too cheap given the context.

Others to Consider: Andy Dalton (NO) – $5,200 v ATL, Jalen Hurts (PHI) – $8,200 @ CHI, Dak Prescott (DAL) – $6,200 @ JAX

Running Backs

Alvin Kamara (NO) – $6,800 v ATL

Alvin Kamara is another player that has had a rollercoaster season to this point. Unfortunately, he’s been on a downward stretch lately. The silver lining to this is that his salary has dropped $1,000 in the last month and that makes him one of the best Week 15 DraftKings plays, especially from a point-per-dollar standpoint.

Kamara is still averaging 15.1 DraftKings points per game this season despite the recent struggles. He even has a 42.8-point performance earlier this year. This week he gets a great matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are easier to beat through the air than on the ground but are an all-around bad defense. Not only that but Kamara is one of the premier pass-catching running backs in the NFL. The New Orleans Saints have a 24-point implied team total which is one of the better numbers on the slate. Kamara should pay off nicely at his salary.

Zonovan Knight (NYJ) – $5,300 v DET

Heading into the season, Zonovan Knight wasn’t on the fantasy radar outside of the deepest dynasty leagues out there. He wasn’t even third-string on the New York Jets depth chart. But here it is in Week 15 and Knight has become a huge factor in both season-long leagues and DraftKings.

He’s now seen at least 17 touches in three straight games and scored at least 13 DraftKings points in each game in that span as well. There’s no reason to expect the Jets to lessen his workload given how well he’s played for them. This week’s matchup against the Detroit Lions isn’t one to shy away from. The Lions are much worse against the pass than the run but they are a team that allows plenty of yards and points in general. Not only that but Knight is used as a pass-catcher as well. Assuming he keeps his current role, he should have no problem having another good game in this one.

Others to Consider: Josh Jacobs (LV) – $8,100 v NE, James Conner (ARI) – $6,900 @ DEN, Derrick Henry (TEN) – $8,000 @ LAC, Isiah Pacheco (KC) – $5,900 @ HOU, Travis Etienne (JAX) – $6,000 v DAL

Wide Receivers

Keenan Allen (LAC) – $6,800 v TEN

Keenan Allen has had an injury-riddled season in 2022 so far. He missed more than half the season with nagging injuries but has averaged 14.2 DraftKings points in his healthy games. That includes games in which he’s gotten hurt and left early.

Recently Allen has been playing like his normal self since getting fully healthy. Over the past four games, he’s scored at least 13 DraftKings points in all four games. Allen has also scored at least 20 DraftKings points in two straight games. He’s seen 14 targets in each of those games and now gets that sweet matchup against the pass funnel that is the Titans. The Titans are allowing the second-most DraftKings points to wide receivers this year. As previously mentioned, this game has a nice 46.5-point combined total and is being played in a dome, all of which should boost Allen’s outlook.

Chris Moore (HOU) – $4,300 v KC

Chris Moore essentially came out of nowhere last week to post a monster game for the Houston Texans in the absence of both Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. Both of them will miss another game so Moore should be good to fire up once again.

The matchup is even better than last week when he caught ten of his 11 targets for 124 yards. That was good for 25.4 DraftKings points. The Kansas City Chiefs have allowed the most DraftKings points to wide receivers so far this season. Whether their secondary is actually that bad or it’s more a product of the fact teams need to throw more often, wide receivers have been able to find statistical success.

The Texans are massive 14-point underdogs here and Dameon Pierce won’t play so they should be throwing early and often. Add it all up and Moore looks like one of the very best Week 15 DraftKings plays.

Others to Consider: Nelson Agholor (NE) – $3,400 @ LV, Zay Jones (JAX) –  $4,900 v DAL, CeeDee Lamb (DAL) – $7,300 @ JAX, Ja’Marr Chase (CIN) – $8,300 @ TB, Garrett Wilson (NYJ) – $6,000 v DET, Chris Olave (NO) – $6,500 v ATL

Tight Ends

Dalton Schultz (DAL) – $4,400 @ JAX

Dalton Schultz came into the season with a lot of hype. Then Dak Prescott got hurt and Schultz’s fantasy value took a nosedive. Since Prescott has returned, Schultz has been much more productive. He’s scored double-digit DraftKings points in four of his last six games. Schultz is averaging more than six targets per game during that span.

This week he gets a nice matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars have allowed the eighth-most DraftKings points to tight ends this year. They are also a good offense and should push the Dallas Cowboys to need to drop back and pass more than usual in this one. This game has a 48-point combined total and the Cowboys have a 26-point implied team total. Both of those numbers are some of the highest on the slate. All of this makes Schultz one of the best Week 15 DraftKings plays.

Greg Dulcich (DEN) – $3,600 v ARI

The Greg Dulcich call didn’t work so well last week but let’s not let one game deter what looks like a great spot here against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are the best matchup a tight end can see. They’ve allowed the most DraftKings points to tight ends this year and are simply not a good defense all around.

Dulcich was a letdown last week but he also has been producing pretty well this year at levels rarely seen from rookie tight ends. Courtland Sutton is still out this week which bodes well for Dulcich’s target share. The overall game environment isn’t necessarily great with both teams sporting backup quarterbacks. However, this is simply too cheap for a tight end with this level of involvement in the offense. Dulcich should have a nice bounce-back performance in this one.

Others to Consider: Chig Okonkwo (TEN) – $3,100 @ LAC, Evan Engram (JAX) – $3,800 v DAL, Travis Kelce (KC) – $7,800 @ HOU

Defense/Special Teams

In terms of choosing a defense/special teams, it’s the last spot I fill in every week. It’s pretty random but there are a few areas to gain an advantage. I aim to target the heavily favored teams, who usually play with a lead. This forces their opponent to throw it more often which can help lead to extra sacks and turnovers and hopefully a touchdown. Another aspect to target is turnover and sack-prone quarterbacks. My advice is to fill out the rest of your lineup first and then pick your favorite D/ST out of the remaining money.

My Tentative Cash Game Lineup

  • QB – Dak Prescott
  • RB – Alvin Kamara
  • RB – Zonovan Knight
  • WR – Davante Adams
  • WR – Nelson Agholor
  • WR – Chris Moore
  • TE – Dalton Schultz
  • Flex – Derrick Henry
  • DST – Denver Broncos

Make sure to tune in next week to see the results from my Week 15 DraftKings plays and to see the best picks for Week 16. Best of luck to everyone and let’s all enjoy some football and win some money!
