Every week is a great week when there’s football involved. Each week this column will analyze a player at each position rostered in 50 percent of Yahoo leagues or less. This group of players is basically a dream stream team. For reference, the threshold used for Wins and Losses in this article will be if the quarterbacks can score at least 17 points, if the tight ends can score at least eight PPR points, and if the rest can score at least 10 PPR points. Here is the Week 9 Stream Team.

Week 9 Stream Team

Quarterback – Justin Fields (CHI – 41%) v MIA

It looks like Justin Fields is coming alive as a fantasy quarterback at least. Fields had a rough opening month to the 2022 season as he averaged just 10.4 fantasy points per game in the first four weeks and topped out at 14.64. Since that point, he’s scored at least 17.02 fantasy points and has averaged 21.7 fantasy points per game in that stretch. That’s quite the turnaround. It really hasn’t coincided with more volume as a passer either as he only has more than 200 passing yards once in that span.

Instead, he’s been more dynamic as a runner. In the last month, Fields has averaged 10.5 carries and 69.25 rushing yards per game. Extrapolated out over the course of a 17-game season that would be 178.5 carries and 1,177.25 rushing yards. Those are Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts-type rushing numbers. Fields doesn’t need to be much of a passer to succeed in fantasy if he’s running like that, just see Jalen Hurts circa 2021.

This week he gets a great matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season. They are also a great offense so Fields should see plenty of dropbacks in this one. Fields is looking like not only one of the best Week 9 Stream Team options but also a quarterback to pick up and ride the rest of the year.

Honorable Mentions – Andy Dalton (NO – 14%) v BAL, Marcus Mariota (ATL – 26%) v LAC

Running Back – Kenyan Drake (BAL – 31%) @ NO

It’s not a strong week for running back streamers, let’s just get that out of the way up front. The Baltimore Ravens running back position has been a bit of a merry-go-round so far this year. J.K. Dobbins is coming off a major injury and proved to not be fully healed yet as he aggravated his knee and needed another surgery.

The Ravens have been trying to piece it together with some combination of Kenyan Drake, Gus Edwards, Justice Hill, and Mike Davis this year. All of them have had their 15 seconds of fame and none of them have separated themselves. Just two weeks ago it looked like Drake may be turning into the guy as he put up 22.70 fantasy points. He followed that up last week with a 0.5-point clunker and it looked like Edwards was getting healthier and taking over.

This week it was back to Drake as Edwards got a bit banged up again and Drake scored 16.70 fantasy points. He only had seven carries but caught all four of his targets. With Edwards coming off a major injury of his own and being banged up again, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they are very cautious with him. Even if Edwards is active, Drake has earned touches, especially in the passing game. The New Orleans Saints defense was tough this week but just got gashed by D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard two weeks ago. With the pickings looking slim Drake looks like one of the better Week 9 Stream Team options at running back.

Honorable Mentions – Dontrell Hilliard (TEN – 12%) @ KC, Caleb Huntley (ATL – 4%) v LAC

Wide Receiver – Garrett Wilson (NYJ – 48%) v BUF

Garrett Wilson came out of the gates hot to start the season showcasing his talent. After his 33-point performance in Week 2, he was the hottest name on the waiver wire with plenty of fantasy managers spending a massive portion of their FAAB to acquire him. Since then he’s been a massive disappointment and that’s coincided with the return of Zach Wilson.

Before Zach Wilson’s return, the New York Jets were throwing the ball at a crazy rate with Joe Flacco at the helm. They transitioned into a much more run-heavy offense leaning on Breece Hall. In the last couple of weeks not only have the Jets lost Hall for the season, but Corey Davis is also missing time with an injury as well. On top of that, second-year wide receiver Elijah Moore is extremely disgruntled and wants a trade.

That leaves Garrett Wilson as the last man standing and clearly the most talented playmaker the Jets have. They were smart enough to lean on him in this one despite the loss. He caught six of his seven targets and turned them into 115 yards. That was good for a 20.50-point fantasy day and a WR11 finish for Wilson. This week’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills isn’t ideal, but the Jets should be trailing and therefore throwing much more than usual once again to the benefit of Wilson. This is a reminder that Wilson should not be available in more than half of leagues right now. He is one of the best Week 9 Stream Team options, especially if Davis remains out this week and should be picked up in all leagues for the rest of the year.

Honorable Mentions – Rondale Moore (ARI – 35%) v SEA, Romeo Doubs (GB – 47%) @ DET

Tight End – Evan Engram (JAX – 43%) v LV

Evan Engram is actually a solid tight end in fantasy football despite what you may have been told. Engram is often the butt of many jokes but has been very solid this season. He has the 10th-most total fantasy points among tight ends this year. Engram’s 45 targets are tied for seventh-most among tight ends. His 32 receptions are the 10th-most among tight ends and his 330 receiving yards are the eighth-most among all tight ends.

Engram hasn’t had any “boom” games so far but he does have five games with nine or more fantasy points and four games with double-digit fantasy points. This past game was his best of the season with 15.50 points. This week he gets a great matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends this year so far. Engram’s combination of matchup and volume makes him one of the best Week 9 Stream Team options at tight end this week, especially in the thick of bye weeks.

Honorable Mentions – Robert Tonyan (GB – 50%) @ DET, Tyler Conklin (NYJ – 12%) v BUF
