Interior defensive lineman Maliek Collins has signed a new contract with the Houston Texans. Hill was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He spent the 2021 season with the Houston Texans as a starter.

Maliek Collins, Houston Texans, Agree to Contract
Viewed as a journeyman, Collins has spent the first six years of his career with three different teams. He spent his first four seasons in Dallas as an impact player right out the gate. During those four seasons, Collins recorded 14.5 sacks, 84 combined tackles, and 54 solo tackles. He also registered five fumble recoveries, 20 tackles for loss, and 40 quarterback hits. It was a fairly productive four-season stint for Collins in Dallas.
The following season was spent in Las Vegas for Collins. During his one year in Las Vegas, Collins recorded 15 combined tackles, eight solo tackles, and zero sacks. He also registered one quarterback hit and zero tackles for loss. No way of sugar-coating it, his time in Las Vegas was a complete failure. This is why it came to the surprise of no one when the Raiders elected not to bring Collins back for another season. Whether it be nagging injuries or the change of scenery, Collins was simply not good in Las Vegas.
Collins spent last season with the Houston Texans as a starter once again. While he was far from spectacular, he did play significantly better than he had with the Raiders. Over the course of the 2021 season, Collins started 15 games. During those starts, he recorded 29 combined tackles, 18 solo tackles, and two and a half sacks. He also registered one interception, one pass deflection, and one fumble recovery. Collins will never be a player you have to gameplan around. However, he has the capability of going on a hot streak every so often.
