Davante Adams is coming off perhaps the greatest season of his storied career. Appearing in 16 of a possible 17 games, the former second-round pick finished the season with a staggering 123 receptions for 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns on 169 targets. The receptions, yards, and yards per target all marked career highs for the 29-year old.
Adams originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Selected by the Green Bay Packers, it took some time for the receiver to truly find his footing in the NFL. As a rookie, Adams caught just 57.6% of his passes for 6.8 yards per target. Those numbers dropped in 2015, as Adams hauled in just 53.2% of his targets for an underwhelming 5.1 yards per target.
However, something clicked in his third season, as Adams suddenly transformed into one of the best receivers in the game. In 2016, the wideout recorded 74 receptions for 997 yards and 12 touchdowns. He proved this wasn’t just a one-year fluke, as he finished 2017 with 74 receptions for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns despite having to catch passes from Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien for a sizable part of the season.
Adams is coming off the best two-season run of his career. Injuries limited Adams to just 14 games in 2020, but he still managed to record 115 receptions for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns while on the field. His touchdowns and 98.1 yards per game led the league and earned him the first All-Pro selection of his career.
Throughout his career, Adams has hauled in 669 of his 1,012 career targets for 8,121 yards, and 73 touchdowns. He has averaged exactly eight yards per target while catching 66.1% of his targets.
