The 2021 NFL Draft contains a lot of potential gems in the later rounds if teams are patient in development. A lot of players tend to fall for various reasons, including injuries and having a bad season. Scouting becomes extremely important and taking chances becomes a little bit more enticing to teams. One such prospect is Trae Barry, who could end up being a great find in the later rounds of the 2021 NFL Entry Draft.

Born on May 26, 1998, in Fairhope, Alabama, Barry attended Spanish Fort High School. In his high school career, Barry had 28 completions of 268 yards with two touchdowns as a quarterback. He also lettered in Basketball and Track and received Mobile Optimist Club Basketball and Track Athlete of the Week honors. Barry committed to Jacksonville State University.

As a Freshman, Barry had 10 receptions of 243 yards and had three receiving touchdowns. He was named a Freshman All-American by Phil Steele and HERO Sports. Bottom Line on Trae Barry

Barry’s path has been quite interesting as he started out in high school in three different positions but has since settled in quite nicely to tight-end. Barry has proven that he has the hands and the length to be a very good receiver, which also stems from his basketball playing days. He has the size you want in a tight-end, even though he will need to add some muscle to his frame. His knee injury will be a concern for some teams, but if it is fully healed Barry will prove to be an interesting later-round selection.
