Bottom Line on Matt Bushman

The 2020 NFL Draft was not very deep in tight end prospects. The first tight end was not selected off the board until the second round. Some scouts believe that if Matt Bushman had declared for the 2020 draft, he could’ve been a top 50 ranked tight end. Bushman decided to return to school but was sidelined in his senior year with an Achilles injury suffered during practice. The 2021 NFL Draft has a bit more depth in the tight end position, so it is very possible that Bushman may slide to a team that didn’t expect to get him. He has all the tools to become a starting tight end in the NFL, the only concerns would be the Achilles injury and if he has hit his potential already.
