Isaiah McKenzie, Buffalo Bills, Agree to Contract
Despite the offseason additions of Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie still managed to take some targets in the Buffalo Bills passing attack. Appearing in all 16 games, the Georgia product recorded 30 receptions for 282 yards and five touchdowns during the regular season. Additionally, McKenzie added an 84-yard punt return touchdown on his only return of the season. During Buffalo’s three-game postseason stretch, the McKenzie recorded three receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown.
McKenzie originally entered the league as a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the Denver Broncos, McKenzie originally made his living on special teams. As a rookie, McKenzie returned 21 punts for 183 yards and added another 50 yards on three kickoff returns. As the cherry on top, McKenzie hauled in four receptions for 29 yards as a rookie.
MeKenzie began the 2018 season with the Denver Broncos, serving in the same role he did as a rookie. However, the Broncos released McKenzie midway through the season, hoping to sneak him through to the practice squad. That didn’t work out, as the receiver-needy Bills put in a waiver claim. McKenzie played the final seven games of the season with Buffalo, hauling in 18 receptions for 179 yards to go along with 10 carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He also served as Buffalo’s primary return specialist, handling a combined 26 punts and kicks for 324 yards.
Throughout the course of his four-year career, McKenzie has caught 79 of his 116 targets for 744 yards and six touchdowns to go with 128 yards and two touchdowns on 29 rushing attempts. As a returner, McKenzie has compiled a combined 755 yards and one touchdown.
