Sports. Honestly. Since 2011

Las Vegas Raiders Trade Gabe Jackson to Seattle Seahawks

Guard Gabe Jackson is no longer a free agetn after signing his new contract. Jackson spent the 2020 season with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Seven-year NFL offensive lineman Gabe Jackson has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2021 fifth round draft pick.  The guard was set to be released by the Las Vegas Raiders. Jackson, a former third-round pick, spent his entire career with the Las Vegas Raiders. Jackson was the fourth offensive guard selected in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Gabe Jackson Traded to the Seattle Seahawks

Gabe Jackson was traded after spending his entire career with the Las Vegas Raiders. Up to this point in his career, Jackson has never been more than an average guard in the NFL. His PFF grade is typically around the league average, and he was simply set to make too much money this coming season for the Raiders. When at his best, Jackson is an above-average guard in this league.

Gabe Jackson initially entered the league in 2014 as the 81st overall pick of the NFL Draft. Selected by the then Oakland Raiders, Jackson started in 12 games his rookie season. Since being drafted, he has always started at least 10 games every season. While Jackson deals with slight injuries from time to time, none were ever severe enough to cause a long absence from play.

Capable of playing either guard positions, Jackson still has value as a starter. Although he has never made a Pro Bowl in his career, his constant availability makes him an asset. This is the type of player that will play through nagging injuries for the betterment of the team.

Gabe Jackson has had a solid career thus far. Not good or great, but solid. It is possible that a change of scenery could help propel Jackson to the next level. He just needs to find a way to stay consistent with his play. Whether it be a power blocking scheme or zone run scheme, Jackson can slide right into any system and be a solid contributor. Just do not expect Hall of Fame-level production.
