Kyle Rudolph Signs Contract With New York Giants

Tight end Kyle Rudolph is no longer a free agent after signing his new contract. Rudolph spent the 2020 NFL season with the Minnesota Vikings.

NFL tight end Kyle Rudolph signed a two-year, $14 million contract with the New York Giants. Rudolph spent the 2020 season with the Minnesota Vikings.

Rudolph was selected by the Vikings, 43rd overall, in the 2011 NFL draft. Rudolph played 10 seasons with the Vikings before being released on March 2nd, 2021. After the 2012 NFL season, Rudolph was nominated to the Pro Bowl and subsequently, won Pro Bowl MVP. Rudolph would receive his 2nd Pro Bowl nomination after the 2017-18 season.

During the 2020-21 season in 12 games, Rudolph had 28 receptions for 334 yards with one touchdown. Rudolph suffered a foot injury and was placed on an injured reserve. The Vikings did not make the 2020-21 NFL playoffs.

The Vikings signed Rudolph to an extension of four years, worth $36 million. Rudolph, in 16 games played, had 39 receptions for 367 yards. Rudolph also completed six touchdowns.  In the playoffs, Rudolph had six receptions of 35 yards with one touchdown in two games. The Vikings would lose to the San Fransisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional playoffs.

During the 2018-19 season, Rudolph had 64 receptions for 634 yards with four touchdowns. Previously in the 2017-18 season, Rudolph completed  57 receptions of 532 yards for eight touchdowns. In the playoffs, Rudolph had six receptions of 53 yards with one touchdown. The Vikings would lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Conference Championship.

In the 2016-17 season, Rudolph had 83 receptions of 840 yards with seven touchdowns. During the 2015-16 season, Rudolph completed 49 receptions of 495 yards with five touchdowns. In the playoffs, Rudolph completed one reception of 24 yards. The Vikings would lose to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Wild Card playoffs.

The Vikings signed Rudolph to a five-year, $36 million extension. Rudolph suffered a sports hernia that required surgery that; consequently, kept him out for six weeks. Rudolph, in 9 games, completed 24 receptions of 231 yards with two touchdowns. The Vikings did not make the playoffs this season.
