Las Vegas Raiders Trade Rodney Hudson to Arizona Cardinals
The former Raiders center started all 16 games for the silver and black in 2020. Hudson was placed on the reserve/covid-19 list on the 22nd of October but was activated just two days later. He only gave up one sack and had one penalty called against him throughout the entire regular season. However, Las Vegas was disappointing down the stretch in 2020, they finished with an 8-8 record.
The Raiders made Hudson the highest-paid center in the league in December 2019. Las Vegas gave him a three-year, $33.75 million contract extension during a season Hudson earned second-team All-Pro while also making the third pro-bowl appearance of his career. All three of his pro bowl appearances have come whilst playing for the Raiders. He spent six years with the franchise.
Hudson joined the Raiders in 2015 after signing a five-year, $44.5 million contract with $20 million guaranteed that off-season. Hudson moved to the Raiders from division rivals the Kansas City Chiefs. He started all 16 games for the Chiefs in 2013 and 2014, playing in the first post-season game of his career in a 45-44 wildcard round loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The most significant injury of Hudsons’ career occurred early in the 2012 season. On September 23, 2012, Hudson suffered a broken leg during the Chiefs’ 27–24 overtime victory against the New Orleans Saints that forced him to miss the rest of the season. However, he has started at least 13 games every season since.
Kansas City originally drafted Rodney Hudson with the 55th pick in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He entered the league out of Florida State University, where he became the most decorated offensive lineman in school history. He started all four years for the Seminoles and was a unanimous All-American selection following the 2010 season.
