Three-year NFL veteran cornerback Levi Wallace signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract with the Buffalo Bills. Wallace, a former undrafted free agent, spent the entirety of the 2020 season with the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills.

Despite the offseason addition of Josh Norman, Levi Wallace managed to maintain his starting job in all 12 games in which he appeared. Starting opposite Tre’Davious White, Wallace finished his season with 48 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, one quarterback hit, eight defended passes, and two interceptions. According to Pro Football Focus grading, Wallace ended the year as the 35th-best cornerback in the league out of 121 eligible players.

Wallace originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent. Signing with the Buffalo Bills following the 2018 NFL Draft, the Alabama product had the unenviable task of trying to earn a Week 1 roster spot. While he couldn’t quite crack the opening day roster, the Buffalo Bills saw something they liked in the cornerback and signed him to the practice squad. After spending the first half of the season on the sidelines, Wallace finally had a chance to shine over the back half of the year. In total, Wallace appeared in seven games, making 37 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, one quarterback hit, and breaking up three passes while showing plenty of promise.

Wallace entered the 2019 offseason determined to prove that his hot finish to 2018 wasn’t a fluke. He accomplished his mission, winning the starting job out of camp and holding onto it for the entire 16-game season. At the end of the year, Wallace recorded 76 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, nine passes defended, and two interceptions. Both interceptions were quite noteworthy, as it clinched a victory over Devlin Hodges and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The second, meanwhile, came in Week 17 against the New York Jets and led to an ankle injury that sidelined him for the postseason.
