Free agent safety Damarious Randall has agreed to a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Randall spent last season with the Cleveland Browns, where he struggled to produce the way he did in his first year with the team. Before his time in Cleveland, Randall played cornerback for the Green Bay Packers and was once considered to be a promising prospect.

Damarious Randall Signs With Las Vegas Raiders
Damarious Randall struggled to make splash plays with the Browns last year. He failed to record an interception in any of the 11 games he played on the season. Prior to last year, Randall had 14 interceptions in his first four career seasons. He did record 2.5 sacks on the year, though, which speaks to his athletic versatility.
One of Randall’s big issues last year with the Browns was his discipline (maybe it’s just a Cleveland thing). He was ejected from their week 11 game with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit on Diontae Johnson. Randall might be lucky he wasn’t suspended for that hit. In Cleveland’s rematch with Pittsburgh, Randall was a healthy scratch due to what the team called disciplinary reasons.
Another struggle for Damarious Randall last year was his ability to stay healthy. A hamstring issue kept him out of four games early in the season for the Browns. Overall, it just wasn’t a good season for Randall in his contract year. Between the discipline issues, injuries, and simply poor play, Randall didn’t do much to boost his free agent status. He will be a key player to watch on his new contract. Last year, there is no denying that Randall’s career took a turn for the worse. After he was trending up, his career is now trending down. He will be looking to turn it around and become a contributor again.
