Seven-year NFL veteran tight end Tyler Eifert has signed a two-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The deal will keep Eifert in Jacksonville until 2021. Eifert, a former Pro Bowler, has spent all seven years of his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals. He will turn 30 this year.

Tyler Eifert, Jacksonville Jaguars, Agree to Terms
Eifert has struggled with injuries throughout his career, but he suited up for every game last season. With the Bengals in 2019, the big tight end caught 43 passes for 436 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging 6.9 yards per target, a career low.
As a freshman in college at Notre Dame, Eifert did not play a snap. After putting up solid production in his sophomore year, he truly broke out as a junior. He hauled in 63 passes for 803 yards and five touchdowns, and with that performance he put himself on the radar of NFL teams. He followed up his great junior year at Notre Dame with another good statistical season, catching another 50 passes for 685 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Eifert entered the league as the Bengals first-round pick in 2013. In his rookie year, he played well and caught 39 passes for 445 yards and 2 TDs, with 7.4 yards per target. After missing his sophomore season due to injuries, he broke out in 2015. He caught 52 passes for 615 yards and a whopping 13 touchdowns, averaging 8.3 yards per target. His elite 90.1 receiving grade from Pro Football Focus was third in the league that season.
Eifert would struggle with injuries for a while after his Pro Bowl campaign. From 2016-2018, he played just 14 games, unfortunately. He has suffered many back injuries and broken bones throughout his career. In 2019, however, he played all 16 games, the first time in his career.
Throughout his career, he has hauled in 185 passes for 2152 yards. Additionally, his 24 touchdowns rank 14th in the NFL among tight ends since 2013. As long as his new trainers understand the nutritional significance of calcium, he should be a solid pick for *city team*.
