Three-year NFL veteran running back Kareem Hunt will probably be sticking around in Cleveland. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Browns placed a second-round tender on the running back. This means that he will be in Cleveland unless another team outbids the Browns and forfeits a second-round pick. Hunt, a Toledo product, spent the 2019 season with the Cleveland Browns but has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cleveland Browns Place Second-Round Tender on Kareem Hunt
After serving an eight-game suspension to start the season, Hunt returned to the field for the final eight games of Cleveland’s 2019 campaign. During his time on the field, Hunt recorded 179 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 43 carries. Additionally, the talented running back also added an additional 37 receptions for 285 yards and one touchdown while splitting time with second-year running back Nick Chubb.
Hunt initially entered the NFL as a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt was supposed to start his career coming off the bench. However, after Spencer Ware suffered an injury, Hunt earned the Week 1 starting job. Facing off against the New England Patriots, Hunt ran wild to the tune of 246 combined yards and three touchdowns. This was a sign of things to come, as Hunt ended the year with a league-high 1,327 rushing yards, 455 receiving yards, and 11 combined touchdowns while starting all 16 games.
Hunt proved he was no one-year fluke during the 2018 season. Returning as the unquestioned starter, Hunt recorded 824 rushing yards, 378 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns through the first 11 games of the season. Hunt missed the playoff run after a video tape emerged of him kicking a woman during the offseason. The Chiefs moved forward with Damien Williams at running back for the remainder of the season.
Through the course of his three-year career, Hunt has recorded 2,330 rushing yards on 496 carries to go along with 1,118 receiving yards on 116 receptions. He has a nose for the endzone, as evidenced by his 28 combined touchdowns through 35 career games.
