Week 13 DFS Core Plays: Davante Adams, Jonathan Williams, More

Davante Adams

Davante Adams is fully healthy and has an exploitable matchup this week. He tops the list of core plays for DFS. Find out who to build your Week 13 daily NFL lineups around.

Week 13 DFS Core Plays: Play Davante Adams

Week 13 DFS Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson $7,000

This week, Jackson will face the 2nd ranked pass defense of the San Francisco 49ers. However, Jackson has proven throughout this season that he is matchup proof. Playing Jackson in fantasy and DFS has become a bit like starting an extra running back along with the quarterback. At this point, Jackson could probably hit value if he were facing 12-man defenses. Nobody has figured out how to stop him yet, and this week figures to be no different. The 49ers defense might be able to slow down the passing game enough to lower the value of his pass-catchers, but Jackson can exceed value by piling up rushing stats. Until someone figures out how to slow him down, or Draft Kings prices him over $8,000, I see no reason to stop playing him.

Jameis Winston $6,300

Winston has passed for 300 yards or more in eight of the last nine games. He’s an every-week starter for fantasy and DFS purposes. Trying to figure out which receiver to stack with him has been difficult. However, one helpful strategy is playing Winston in three variations of stacked lineups. One lineup, with Winston and Mike Evans. Another, with Winston and Chris Godwin. And finally, the third lineup has all three stacked together. If you are only planning on playing one lineup with Winston in it, the best course of action would be to go ahead with the triple stack.

Ryan Tannehill $5,700

Tannehill has been a steady statistical contributor since taking over as quarterback of the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have a very good offensive line, a strong run game and decent pass catchers for Tannehill to work within the offense. Tannehill is a good passer, but he can also move the chains with his legs when needed. He’s had 37 or more rushing yards in three straight games, including three rushing touchdowns over the same span. Tannehill has a nice floor for cash games and some upside for GPPs at only $5,700 on Draft Kings this week.

Week 13 DFS Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey $10,500

Just keep on locking McCaffrey, and the 30+ points he will likely give you, into your cash game lineups this week. After all, CMC has crested 29 DK points in nine out of 11 games this season. This week’s opponent for McCaffrey is the Washington Redskins, whose defense ranks 28th in rushing yards allowed and 21st in DK points allowed to running backs this season. McCaffrey has a high chance of hitting 30+ DK points once again Week 13.

Austin Ekeler $5,700

Ekeler and the Los Angeles Chargers play the Denver Broncos this week. The Broncos defense has fared well against the Chargers receivers in recent history. However, they tend to struggle defending Ekeler. The Chargers are well aware of this. Earlier this season, when these two teams played, Ekeler was targeted 16 times in the passing game. His receiving line 15/86/0 was impressive. At his current price, Ekeler has the upside we need for DFS tourneys.

Jonathan Williams $5,300

Williams was given a colossal workload last week (29 touches) with Marlon Mack out. Mack has been ruled out again, meaning we’ll likely see Williams carry the load for the Indianapolis Colts this week. With T.Y. Hilton also ruled out, look for the Colts to lean on their run game behind their strong offensive line. As long as the game stays close, Williams should be in for another monster workload this week.

Jamaal Williams $4,500

Williams is underpriced at only $4,500 on Draft Kings. He has scored 13+ DK points in five of his last six games and 15+ in four out of six. Williams’ usage in the Green Bay Packers passing game provides a safe floor. He is a good value play for cash lineups this week, or use him as a cheap one-off in GPP’s.

Week 13 DFS Wide Receivers

Davante Adams $7,000

Davante Adams is the only receiver on the team that Aaron Rodgers trusts completely. As evident by his 31% target share. After a few game stint where Adams was dealing with a toe injury, the pair have recently gotten back to their old ways. Rodgers has targeted Adams 10 or more times in each of the last three games, and Adams has caught seven passes in each of those games. Davante Adams has yet to have a 30+ point breakout performance since before the toe injury. However, this week’s matchup with the New York Giants provides the perfect opportunity for him to achieve that feat. The Giants have given up the third-most DK points to receivers this season.

Mike Evans $6,900

Evans will square off with the Jacksonville Jaguars now top-cornerback A.J. Bouye this week. Bouye has been outmatched by many number one receivers this season. Bouye is currently giving up .44 fantasy points per pass route this season. Meanwhile, Evans has seen a 24% target share and is averaging .48 fantasy points per pass route. Evans is in position for a bounce-back performance.

Tyler Boyd $5,500

Andy Dalton is back as the Bengals starting quarterback this week. He has shown good chemistry with Boyd in the past. That chemistry should benefit the pair this week when facing the pass-funnel defense of the New York Jets. The Jets are the best run-stopping defense in the league, forcing opponents to lean on their passing game. Boyd should be the recipient of many Dalton passes Sunday, providing a good floor for cash games at only $5,500.

Week 13 DFS Tight Ends

Travis Kelce $7,200

The Chiefs host the Oakland Raiders this week, who rank 24th in DK points allowed to tight ends this season. Kelce had 26.7 points against them back in Week Two. While there are a plethora of good tight end options on the Sunday slate, Kelce has the matchup and upside to outscore them all potentially. Also, being that he is the highest priced tight end on the slate, Kelce could be on the lower end of the ownership spectrum.

Ryan Griffin $4,300

Griffin has been a great value play the last few weeks. He is good enough to capitalize on good matchups, one of which he has this week. Griffin’s opponent this week, the Bengals, rank 24th in DK points allowed to tight ends. Look for the Jets to continue involving their newly extended tight end in their offense.

Jack Doyle $3,300

The Colts placed Eric Ebron on injured reserve, Doyle will now serve as the primary receiving tight end for the Colts. Doyle should be busy this week with Mack and Hilton also out. The Colts will likely lean heavily on their run game this week. However, when they get into passing situations, Doyle should be high on the passing priority list, particularly down around the goal line.

Week 13 DFS Defense

Ravens $2,800

The Ravens have been the best fantasy defense in the league over their last five games. Their offense has been getting out to big leads early, allowing the defense to get after opposing quarterbacks and force them into mistakes. The 49ers will likely succumb to the same fate this week.

Chiefs $2,700

The Chiefs have not had the most consistent defense this season. However, they have played well against their division opponents this season. They faced all three division opponents on the road so far this season. Over the remainder of the season, they will face all three at home. First up is Oakland, a matchup that the Chiefs defense, while backed by their home crowd, should take full advantage of this week.
