Fantasy Football Week 12 Defense Waiver Wire Streams

Fantasy Football Week 12 Defense Waiver Wire Streams: The Detroit Lions and New York Giants face favorable matchups and should be good Week 12 streams.
Defense Waiver Streams

11 weeks of NFL play are officially in the books, which means bye weeks are in full swing. Gone are the days where you could just coast by on a strong draft. Now more than ever, you’ll need to search the waiver wire for the best available defense streams. Heading into Week 12, you should set your eyes on the Detroit Lions, New York Giants, and Atlanta Falcons.

Note that in order to make this list, the defense had to be available in over 50% of fantasy leagues. If you’re in smaller leagues, there may be better players available. Make sure to check your waivers to see if there are any diamonds in the rough before submitting your claims

Detroit Lions, New York Giants Highlight Fantasy Football Week 12 Defense Waiver Wire Streams

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions don’t have a good defense, but a YMCA unit could slow down the Washington Redskins. Washington went 16 straight quarters without scoring a touchdown, which is something you almost have to try to do. While Derrius Guice eventually broke the streak, this is still the worst offense in football. Dwayne Haskins doesn’t look ready to start, and he has absolutely no support on the field. Detroit should record multiple turnovers and sacks in this one.

New York Giants

Mitchell Trubisky is very bad at the game of football and is singlehandedly ruining the Chicago Bears. Matt Nagy isn’t helping matters, as the once-innovative coach is doing absolutely nothing to help out his limited quarterback. The New York Giants don’t have the pieces to match up against Allen Robinson, but that doesn’t really matter when Trubisky cannot read a defense nor accurately deliver a target. The 2019 Giants aren’t the 1985 Bears by any means, but they have what it takes to stop Trubisky and get a turnover or two.

Atlanta Falcons

Don’t do this unless you are truly, truly desperate. The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the worst defenses in the league, but they’ve steadily improved ever since head coach Dan Quinn relinquished play calling duties. In Week 11, Atlanta held the Carolina Panthers to three points while forcing four Kyle Allen interceptions. One week earlier, Atlanta held the high-flying New Orleans Saints offense to just nine points.

The Falcons face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and mistake-prone Jameis Winston. Winston is one of the most volatile quarterbacks in the league and has the ability to put together a top performance on a weekly basis. That said, he is also a turnover machine. Winston is going to throw a few errant passes, and the Falcons defensive backs should be there to capitalize on their opportunity.
