Newly acquired New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown has been accused of sexual assault by a former trainer. The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in the Southern District of Florida. According to allegations made in the suit, Brown sexually assaulted trainer Britney Taylor on three separate occasions dating back to 2017.

According to the suit, Brown exposed himself and kissed her without consent in June of 2017. One month later, Brown allegedly masturbated and ejaculated on her back. Taylor included texts from Brown which mention the incident in question. The suit goes on to say that in May of 2018 Brown “forced her down onto a bed, pushed her face into the mattress, and forcibly raped her.”

Antonio Brown has disputed these charges through his legal team and has filed a countersuit against Taylor. According to Brown’s legal team, Brown and Taylor were involved in a “consensual personal relationship.” Brown’s legal team goes on to add that the sexual interactions were “completely consensual.” Brown also published a series of Instagram messages in which an unnamed woman claims to have proof that Taylor is extorting Brown for money. It’s worth noting that the tweet which contained these messages was posted on September 7th, three days before the suit was officially filed.

Brown and Taylor first met back at Central Michigan during their college days. Taylor, an aspiring gymnast, met Brown at a bible-study group where they reportedly became close friends. While the duo drifted apart for a few years, they reconnected when Brown hired her to be his personal trainer in 2017.

This isn’t the first time Brown has been in the news this offseason. Brown, the newest member of the New England Patriots, spent the off-season in Oakland before falling out of grace with the coaching staff and front office. As of this posting, it’s unclear whether Oakland or New England knew about the allegations prior to the release/signing.
