Roster Dalvin Cook – Week One NFL Daily Fantasy Core Plays

Dalvin Cook

Whether you mass multi-enter DFS contests or like to play a couple of lineups for fun, every DFS player needs to start their lineup building process with a core group of players. One such player for this week is Dalvin Cook. You’ll want considerable exposure to him across your lineups. See why, and who else needs to be a core part of your week one NFL DFS lineups.

NFL Daily Fantasy Core Plays for Week One – Roster Dalvin Cook

Core NFL DFS Plays

Dalvin Cook– $6,000

Cook has one of the top running back matchups of the week, and nobody wants to run the ball more than Minnesota Vikings head coach, Mike Zimmer. Cook will face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, a team that gave up the most DraftKings points per game to running backs last season.

Currently, Vegas has the game total for this matchup set at 47.5 points, the third-highest over/under on the slate and the Vikings are four-point favorites. Cook should see plenty of work Sunday on all three downs. Cook is healthy to start this season, and he will dominate the touches in the Vikings backfield.

Cook had a rough start to last season, but over his final six games, Cook averaged 16+ touches and 18.3 DK points per game. Lock Dalvin Cook into your lineups on Sunday and watch him go to work on the Falcons defense.

Leonard Fournette– $6,100

Fournette is another back who was hampered by injury in the early going last season, among other things. However, in the games where Fournette was healthy, he handled a huge workload. Through his final six games of 2018, Fournette averaged 22 touches and 17.85 DK points per game.

Sunday brings a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, who allowed the second-most DK points to running backs in 2018. The Vegas total for the Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars game is 52.5, the highest over/under on the slate. The Jags implied total is 23.75 points.

I expect Fournette to be a significant factor on all three downs and at the goal line Sunday. He should get as much work as he can handle. Lock him in as a core play at only $6,100 on Draft Kings.

Tyler Lockett  $6,000

Tyler Lockett and the Seattle Seahawks will host the Cincinnati Bengals on the NFL’s first Sunday. The Bengals defense gave up the third-most DK points to wide receivers last season. With little done in the off-season to improve the back end of the Cincy defense, expect more of the same.

Lockett is not only the top receiver for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, but he is also potentially the only fully healthy receiver near the top of the depth chart in Seattle. D.K. Metcalf did reportedly returned to practice today, but even if Metcalf plays, Lockett will still be Wilson’s primary target when the Seahawks take to the air Sunday.

Last season, Lockett averaged 14.4 DK points per game. I think 14 points is closer to Lockett’s floor in Week One versus the Bengals. Lock him in your lineups and reap the rewards.

Mark Andrews– $3,000

Andrews is a low-cost tight end with the opportunity to be a high point per dollar play. He’s projected to be the top passing target for Lamar Jackson– who I also like for DFS this week.

Andrews has flown under the radar because the Baltimore Ravens chose to hold Jackson back from passing the ball last season. While I still expect a run-heavy attack from the Ravens offense, I also expect them to open things up a bit and allow Jackson to sling-it more.

Andrews abilities as a blocker and receiver help him stay on the field on all three downs. At 3k on Draft Kings, a few catches for 50 or 60 yards is all he needs to hit 3x value. Lock Andrews in your lineups and spend up at some higher priority and higher scoring positions like running back and wide receiver.

More Players to Get Exposure to for Week One NFL DFS

If you play multiple DFS lineups, these are some other players that you need exposure to on the Sunday Main Slate.

Chris Godwin– $6,200

Godwin finally gets his shot as a full-time wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was reported all off-season that he has looked great and is being featured in the offense. It will be fun to see how Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians uses Godwin on Sunday. I have a feeling Godwin’s price will go up next week.

Lamar Jackson– $6,100

Jackson gets a good matchup versus the already tanking Miami Dolphins. He provides a nice floor with his rushing stats and should produce more with his arm this season. He will be exciting to watch on Sunday and a good player to get exposure to across DFS lineups.

Chris Carson– $5,700

Carson has a cake matchup against the Bengals. The Seahawks are 9.5 point favorites at home. Carson should see heavy usage on Sunday and should grind out a nice final stat line. He is worth consideration when building lineups for Week One NFL DFS.

One last thing- Play Tony Pollard in cash games if Ezekiel Elliott remains out. I left Pollard out because it currently looks like a contract could get worked out with reports of Zeke on his way to Dallas. If negotiations somehow break down, Pollard is a must-play in DFS and especially in DFS cash game lineups. [Player pricing and stats found at Draft Kings]
