Tight end Jared Cook is expected to sign with the New Orleans Saints. Contract details are pending at this time. Cook spent the last two years with the Oakland Raiders.
The #Saints are expected to sign free agent TE Jared Cook, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. One of the top free agents still out there, Cook gives QB Drew Brees an immediate big-time weapon.

Jared Cook, New Orleans Saints to Agree to Deal
Cook is a tight end that has had a bit of an inconsistent career, though more recently it appears to be on the upswing. He is coming off a season with multiple career highs, and he is remembered well for his recent brief stint with the Green Bay Packers in which he caught a critical pass on the sideline from Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs against the Dallas Cowboys.
As previously stated, Cook had a strong 2018 season. He finished with 68 receptions, 896 yards, and six touchdowns. All of those are career highs. He was a rare bright spot in a rather tough season for the Raiders. On opening weekend, he set the Raiders record for most receiving yards by a tight end in one game with 180. As a result of his strong play, he got named to the first Pro Bowl of his career.
Cook played high school football at North Gwinnett – located in Suwanee, Georgia. He then went on to play college football with the University of South California. He finished his time there with 1,107 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Cook was drafted in 2009 by the Tennessee Titans in the third round. He remained there through 2012. In 2011 he had 759 receiving yards, which was his career high until 2018. He then went to the Los Angeles Rams (then still in St. Louis) and stayed there from 2013 to 2015. Then he spent one season with the Packers in 2016, where he had probably the biggest play of his career as referenced earlier. He signed with the Raiders in 2017 and remained there through 2018, when he went on to have the best season of his career thus far.
