Matt Paradis to Sign Three-Year Contract With Carolina Panthers

Paradis started the first nine games of the 2018 season for the Broncos before fracturing his right fibula and being placed on injured reserve. As per Pro Football Focus, Paradis graded out at an overall score of an 87.1 for his most recent three-year performance, including a score of 79.0 for 2018. Before sustaining his season-ending injury this past year, Paradis had started every game for the Broncos since assuming the starting role in 2015.

Paradis was a restricted free agent after the 2017 season and was assigned a second-round tender by the Broncos to keep him in Denver. Paradis re-signed and finished the season as Pro Football Focus’ fifth-best pass blocking center. The 2016 season saw Paradis selected as a Pro Bowl alternate while also grading out as Pro Football Focus’ number two overall center. He was drafted by the Broncos in the 6th round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Boise State. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad but was named the starter going into his second season and never looked back.

Growing up in Idaho, Paradis was the 1A Idaho High School Player of the Year in 2008 and was named first team all-state on both offense and defense. He attended Boise State where he was redshirted as a Freshman in 2009 and moved from defense to offense in 2010. Paradis appeared in eight games as a redshirt sophomore in 2011, before ending his collegiate career with 26 consecutive starts at center and being named first-team All-Mountain West in 2012, and second-team All-Mountain West in 2013 as a redshirt senior.
