Four-year NFL veteran linebacker Jordan Hicks will sign a four-year, $36 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. His contract carries with it $20 million in guarantees and keeps him with the team until 2022. Hicks, a one-time Super Bowl champion, spent the entirety of his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Arizona Cardinals Signing Linebacker Jordan Hicks
Hicks spent the 2018 season on the final year of his rookie contract. Appearing in 12 games, Hicks recorded 91 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three sacks over the season. Additionally, Hicks also recorded six quarterback hits and five passes defended. Hicks built on his impressive regular season by recording 12 tackles and one tackle for loss in two postseason games.
Hicks initially entered the NFL as a third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Selected by the Philadelphia Eagles, Hicks played in eight games as a rookie, starting five. While on the field, Hicks recorded 49 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, and three passes defended before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury. At the time of the injury, Hicks was Philadelphia’s leading tackler.
Hicks has appeared in 43 of a possible 64 games throughout his four-year career. Throughout his time on the field, Hicks has recorded 254 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 14 quarterback hits, five sacks, and 19 passes defended. His best season likely came in 2016, when he recorded 86 tackles, five quarterback hits, and five interceptions while appearing in all 16 games.
Prior to joining the NFL, Hicks spent five years with the Texas Longhorns. Throughout his five-year collegiate tenure, Hicks recorded 248 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, and 22.5 tackles for loss. Hicks played as a true freshman in 2010 but took a medical redshirt year in 2012 after suffering a hip injury. He wouldn’t fare much better in 2013, as an Achilles injury ended his season after just four games. Despite the consecutive injuries, Hicks stayed healthy as a Senior, recording 116 tackles and 3.5 sacks while appearing in 13 games.
