Nick Foles to Sign With the Jacksonville Jaguars
Foles is obviously a well-known quarterback due to having won a Super Bowl MVP award last year with the Eagles. Due in part to this, he was probably the best option available at quarterback in free agency. He’s made a resurgence after having been relegated to being a league backup not too long ago, to now once again looking for a starting job.
Foles started the first two games of the 2018 season due to Carson Wentz still recovering from injury, and then he played the final three games of the regular season and two playoff games due to another injury to Wentz. In those five starts, he had 1,413 yards, seven touchdowns, four interceptions and a career-high completion percentage of 72.5%. His numbers went down in the playoffs, but he still helped the Eagles get a Wildcard win over the Chicago Bears.
Foles played football in high school at Westlake in Austin, Texas. He started college at Michigan State as a redshirt freshman before transferring to Arizona, where he played the rest of his college career.
Foles was drafted by the Eagles in 2012 in the third round. He became the starter in 2013 after a breakout season which included a game with seven touchdown passes in one game, only two interceptions all season, and his lone Pro Bowl thus far. In 2015 Foles was traded to the Los Angeles Rams (then still in St. Louis), where he struggled heavily. In 2016 he went to the Kansas City Chiefs as a backup, where he got to start one game. Then in 2017 he returned to the Eagles, which eventually led to his Super Bowl win. In his career, he has 68 touchdowns and 33 interceptions.
