The fantasy football season is officially in its final stretch. With the trade deadline passed in the majority of leagues, the only way to improve your roster is through smart waiver claims. No matter how good your roster is, you’ll need to make at least one or two moves on the waiver wire if you’re to win your championship. With that in mind, quarterbacks Marcus Mariota and Lamar Jackson are some smart waiver wire adds for the upcoming slate of games.

Fantasy Football: Marcus Mariota, Lamar Jackson (or Joe Flacco) Top Week 11 Quarterback Waiver Claims
Marcus Mariota
The former second-overall pick is finally healthy and he’s starting to play up to his potential. Mariota’s overall numbers on the season are underwhelming, but injuries have drastically limited his production. Early in the season, Mariota suffered a nerve injury, causing him to lose feeling in his hand. Obviously, this makes it difficult to grip and throw a football, leading to a decline in his production.
However, those injury issues appear to be behind him. Over his past two games, Mariota recorded 468 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 53 rushing yards and a touchdown. Mariota faces an Indianapolis Colts team in Week 12 which just gave up 320 yards and two touchdowns to Blake Bortles. Mariota should be a good start as long as he stays healthy.
Lamar Jackson (or Joe Flacco)
Monitor the injury report on this one. Joe Flacco suffered a hip injury in Week Nine against the Pittsburgh Steelers and could miss Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Whichever Ravens quarterback plays in this game not only has a great matchup in Week 11, but for the rest of the season. Baltimore faces one of the most favorable schedules from now until Week 16, going up against a series of defenses which struggle against the quarterback position.
As of now, this team is still Joe Flacco’s. If he’s able to play in Week 11, he’ll get the start over Lamar Jackson. However, if Flacco can’t go, Jackson has the chance to steal the starting job the rest of the way. With such a favorable schedule, Jackson or Flacco could provide you a solid QB1 all the way to the fantasy championship.
Blake Bortles
After seeing the bad Blake Bortles for much of the season, the good one returned in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts. After falling behind early, the former third-overall pick threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns while almost mounting a furious comeback. This comes just weeks after a near-benching for backup Cody Kessler.
Historically, Bortles has always played his best when his back is against the wall. The Jaguars passer gets to face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers struggling defense in Week 12. While the unit got a few turnovers in Week 10, they’ve still struggled for the majority of the season against the quarterback position. On top of that, the Jaguars defense doesn’t look capable of slowing down the Steelers offense. This game could be a shootout, which bodes well for Bortles’ fantasy value.
