Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Stacks and Week Seven Options

Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Stacks

Every week I look at the top of the leaderboards in several guaranteed prize pool (GPP) contests to see what the top 10 winners lineup build looked like. Then, I examine whether they had stacks built into their lineups and what kind of stacks were most effective that week. Next, we review my recommended stacks from the previous week. Last, I look through this week’s games and give you some game-stacking recommendations for daily fantasy football this week.

Daily Fantasy Football Lineup Stacks Week Seven

The Stacking Statistics From Week Six

Here are the statistics showing how many of the top 10 winners used stacks in their lineups last week and what kind of stacks worked best at winning GPPs in week six. Contest information found at (Draft Kings)

No stack – 15%

Two-player stack – 26.25%

Game stack – 10%

Super stack – 21.25%

Super game stack – 27.5%

The results in daily fantasy football in Week Six were fairly spread out. We had a lot of higher scoring games which meant a lot of high scoring players in fantasy football. With the scoring so spread out, there were many ways to win GPP contests. It was one of those weeks when cash-game lineups worked out in GPPs. That being said, super game stacks were still the most effective lineup building strategy once again, if by a small margin.

Week Six Game Stack Review

Player scoring found at (DK Live)

Tom Brady James White / Julian Edelman / Rob Gronkowski / Sammy Watkins = 72.5

Matt Ryan / Julio Jones / Calvin Ridley / Mike Evans / Cameron Brate= 83.76

Andy Dalton / A.J. Green / Tyler Boyd / JuJu Smith-Schuster / Antonio Brown = 105.46

Hopefully, you took my advice and built multiple stacks from the three games that I listed for us to target last week. Because, while my favorite stacks from those games didn’t necessarily crush last week’s lineups, game stacks from each of those games were in some of the winning GPP lineups on Draft Kings.

A few things that I’ve noticed the past couple of weeks. One, being contrarian pays. Let me explain. Last week the winners of the big GPPs on Draft Kings had lineups stacked with players from the Bears. Hardly a popular play. This week some of the top scoring lineups were stacked with Dolphins and Bears game-stacks, again not a popular play by a long shot. Now, I’m not saying to go out every week and play teams and players in the worst matchups. I still believe that stacking players from the games you believe will be high scoring, back and forth shootouts, is a great idea. However, there is something to be said for targeting some of the less popular options in our game-stacks in order to capitalize on low ownership. This is why I prefer to play multiple lineups each week in order to maximize my chances of hitting that right combination of players.

Week Seven Games to Stack in Daily Fantasy Football

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs

O/U (58.5) Chiefs -6.5

Implied points: Chiefs 32.5, Bengals 26

This game looks like the best option this week for our game stacks. The Chiefs as a team have scored 215 points so far this season and have given up 172 to their opponents. The Bengals have scored 174 points and allowed 158 points scored by opponents.

I don’t think either team’s defense can slow down the other’s offense in this game. Points are bound to be plentiful which means fantasy points should also be plentiful. Since this game has this week’s highest Vegas points total it’s inevitably going to be a popular play for DFS players to look for players to roster in daily fantasy football.

Hopefully, everyone chases points and targets Tyreek Hill this week after his huge game in Foxboro on Sunday Night Football. While I will have some exposure to Hill across my lineups this week, he’s not going to be the main player that I target. Travis Kelce is the player from this game that I will have the most exposure to. The Bengals can be exploited by the tight end position. Just look at what the Pittsburgh Steelers tight ends did in the game against them this past weekend. I also like both running backs in this game. Of the two top backs, Kareem Hunt and Joe Mixon, I prefer Mixon. He has the steadier workload and the better matchup in this one. Here’s a look at my favorite stack from this matchup.

Patrick Mahomes / Travis Kelce / Joe Mixon / Tyler Boyd

New England Patriots at Chicago Bears

O/U (49.5) Patriots -3

Implied points: Patriots 26.25, Bears 23.25

Here we have a Patriots offense that is beginning to hit on all cylinders facing a tough, albeit beatable, Bears defense in Chicago. The Dolphins showed us last week that the Bears secondary can be roasted if the pass-rush isn’t getting to the quarterback. Tom Brady is one of the best at getting the ball out of his hands and into his playmaker’s hands quickly. I believe the Patriots can put up some points in this game forcing the Bears offense to try to keep pace.

As for the Bears offense versus the Patriots defense, Mitch Trubisky comes into this game red hot. He’s thrown nine touchdown passes in the last two games. The Patriots defense offers another opportunity for a big game for Trubisky this week. Outside of their home games in Foxboro, the Patriots defense has not played very good. They gave up 31 points in Week Two against the Jacksonville Jaguars and 26 points against the Detroit Lions in Week Three. Plus, the Patriots just gave up 40 points to the Chiefs at home, a team that runs a similar offensive scheme like the Bears. Look for some fireworks to fly in this one. Here’s a look at my favorite stack from this game.

Mitch Trubisky / Taylor Gabriel / James White / Julian Edelman

New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons

O/U (54.5) Falcons -5.5

Implied points: Falcons 30, Giants 24.5

Picking my third game to target was a tough task this week. However, judging off of pure matchups alone this game holds some of the best. First, Saquon Barkley versus this running back friendly defense in Atlanta is a dream matchup. Barkley should be in for a busy day running and catching the ball out of the backfield. Not to be outdone, I feel like Odell Beckham Jr. is in a blowup spot also. The Falcons defense has been decimated by injuries this season and is subsequently giving up fantasy points in droves to their opponents. Look for a big day from the Giants top running back/wide receiver duo.

On the other side of this game, we have the Falcons who are in my article for the umpteenth week in a row. Explosive on offense and weak on defense, they provide the perfect target for daily fantasy football lineups. Ryan has been consistent and really good this season. He is surrounded with talent and has a good offensive line protecting him. I expect the points to keep piling up for the Falcons again on Monday night against the Giants. Just how they will score those points is the question.

I like Ito Smith a lot at 3,800 on Draft Kings this week. I’ll have some exposure to him across my lineups again this week. However, I prefer to stack my quarterback with a pass catcher in order to double up on the fantasy points when they score. With a couple of injuries affecting the Falcons receiving corps, I decided to roll with Austin Hooper for my top stack. Here’s a look at my favorite stack from this game.

Matt Ryan / Austin Hooper / Saquon Barkley / Odell Beckham Jr.

Best of luck with your lineups this week in daily fantasy football. I’m going to keep grinding and working to find the best matchups to exploit each week. Also, I’ll be researching the winning lineups each week to look for lineup building trends. For instance, I’ve noticed that paying up at running back has paid off the last couple weeks for some daily players. I’ll be checking to see if that continues to be the case again this week.
