Robert Woods has reportedly signed a five-year, $39 million contract with the Los Angeles Rams. The new pact contains $15 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Report: Robert Woods Will Sign With Los Angeles Rams
2016 thrust Woods into more of a number one receiver role at times due to Sammy Watkins‘ injury issues. The best example came in the Bills’ close 31-25 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 9. Though he didn’t catch a touchdown pass, Woods finished the game with a career high 162 receiving yards.
The Gardena, CA native dealt with injuries himself, including a sprained knee sustained in Buffalo’s 16-12 win over Cincinnati in Week 11. It forced him to miss the next two games. Despite that setback, Woods led the Bills with 613 yards receiving on the year. That said, he managed just a single touchdown.
Woods spent the first four seasons of his pro career with the Bills. Buffalo drafted him in the second round (41st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft after he starred at USC for three seasons. Four wideouts went off the board before Woods in the draft that year.
The 24-year-old’s most productive season came in 2014 as a second-year player. Woods ended the year with 65 receptions, 699 yards and five touchdowns. All three of those totals remain career highs up to this point.
In college, Woods established himself as one of Southern Cal’s most dynamic players at the position. That’s quite an accomplishment at a school that’s produced household names such as Lynn Swann, Keyshawn Johnson and Steve Smith among others. His 252 receptions ranks number one all-time among Trojan receivers while his 32 touchdown grabs is second.
Woods came to USC as one of the most highly touted high school prospects of 2010. Rivals.com rated him as the nation’s top wide receiver that year as well as the sixth best prospect overall.
