Danny Woodhead is heading to the AFC North.
The veteran running back will be signing with the Baltimore Ravens, according to NFL media insider Ian Rapoport. Details of his new contract have yet to be disclosed. Woodhead spent the previous four seasons of his career with the San Diego Chargers.

Report: Danny Woodhead to Sign With Baltimore Ravens
The 32-year-old Woodhead’s 2016 campaign ended prematurely due to injury. In the Chargers Week Two clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a 38-14 win, Woodhead suffered a torn ACL. The team placed him on injured reserve immediately thereafter, ending his season.
A year earlier, Woodhead established himself as one of the league’s top pass-catching backs. He finished the 2015 season with 755 receiving yards which not only led all NFL running backs but placed him first on the Chargers. He added a total of nine touchdowns, six of which came in the pass game.
Another major injury cut Woodhead’s 2014 season short. In a 22-10 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 3, he broke his fibula and ended up missing the remainder of the season.
In 2013, Woodhead continued to star in San Diego’s run and pass game while also contributing on special teams. His 1,034 yards from scrimmage ranked third on the team behind Keenan Allen and Ryan Mathews. And he led the Chargers with 262 kickoff return yards. The team made the playoffs and upset the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild card round before falling to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round.
Before his time in San Diego, Woodhead spent three seasons with the New England Patriots. His most prominent moment came in Super Bowl XLVI when he scored the Pats’ first touchdown of the game. New England inevitably fell to the New York Giants, 21-17.
Woodhead went undrafted in 2008 and initially signed with the Jets. He spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve, with the Jets adding him to their practice squad the following year. But injuries to key Jets players forced them to move Woodhead to the active roster and he made his pro debut in Week Seven against the Oakland Raiders.
The North Platte, NE native starred collegiately at Division II Chadron State in his home state. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in all four of his seasons there, including his junior year when he finished with 2,756 yards on the ground. That mark stands as the highest single-season rushing total in NCAA history across all divisions. Overall, his 9,259 all-purpose yards ranks second all-time.
