Earlier today Hockey Canada has confirmed that two players have tested positive for COVID-19. The players of Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek have been placed in quarantine in Red Deer, Alberta. The players will self isolate in their hotel. No player names have been announced who have tested positive from the organization.

Multiple Team Canada Players Test Positive For COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit pause on Team Canadas camp earlier today. Hockey Canada has been forced to postpone the Red-White scrimmage game. The Protocol due to a positive test calls for immediate isolation of all staff and to close the facilities. All ongoing camp activities today at the Westerner Park Centrium have also been suspended. Although upon arrival all staff members, players and coaches have taken COVID-19 tests. Hockey Canada Safety will continue for precautionary standards to go through additional testing per team players and all staff before camp activities resume.
Going Forward
There are currently 46 players attending this evaluation camp in Red Deer, Alberta. Hockey Canada Safety and the province of Alberta need to work together. To ensure this pandemic does not spread throughout the Cities or the camp. In order for the IIHF World Junior Championship to stay on track and give every player at the camp a fair shot, the guidelines need to be strict and followed. There is a ton of talent in this tournament not only in Canada, but players will also be looking to shine to build a portfolio for the future draft. Edmonton, Alberta will host the IIHF tournament from December 25 to January 5. There is still a month before games begin.
