The Dallas Stars announced that forward Alexander Radulov will be out day-to-day. The talented forward has an upper-body injury. The Stars are playing the St. Louis Blues tonight and not having Radulov in the lineup will hurt. Joel Kiviranta will replace Radulov in the lineup.
No Alexander Radulov tonight. Anton Khudobin in goal. Joel Kiviranta will slide into Radulov’s spot in the lineup, and Stephen Johns will play tonight. Taylor Fedun is a scratch again, and we’ll see about the other one tonight.

Alexander Radulov Injured
Alexander Radulov, 33 who was the 15th overall selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft has 16 goals, 31 assists in 51 games this season. He has also thrown in seven power play goals for good measure. He has excellent possession numbers showing a Corsi For of 53.6, and a Relative Corsi For of 5.8. Radulov has 40 minutes of penalties this season. The Russian sharpshooter signed as a free agent with the Stars in July of 2017.
His career statistics shows 136 goals, 195 assists in 433 games over his seven-year NHL resume. He has a career Corsi For of 52.9, and a Relative Corsi For of 3.1.
What This Means Going Forward
Certainly missing Radulov in an important game is not ideal. Even without him the Stars need to regroup after a tough loss to the Minnesota Wild last night. The power play will be minus Radulov’s scoring prowess as well. They just need to move on without him and see if they can get revenge against the tough Blues who eliminated them in the second round of the playoffs last season.
His replacement, Joel Kiviranta is unproven with just one goal in eight games with Dallas. It may be too much to ask him to fill Radulov’s role, but he can give it all he’s got to impress the coaching staff.
Hopefully Radulov will back soon to haunt opponents with his talents.
