Troy Terry Injured
In Saturday’s game against the Calgary Flames, Troy Terry blocked a shot by Flames defenseman Mark Giordano and hobbled off the ice afterwards. He was seen leaving the rink in boots and crutches.
So far this season, Terry has scored 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 points to go along with 2 minutes in penalties in 32 games played. His possession numbers have been 46.9 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of 1.1.
Over his very short NHL career, Terry has only played 34 games spread over 2 seasons. Terry has played solely for the Anaheim Ducks. He has 4 goals and 9 assists for 13 career points in 34 career games. He was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the 5th round, 148th overall in the 2015 NHL draft.
The team is currently travelling to Edmonton, and Terry is unlikely to join them but still waiting on official confirmation and final evaluation by the Ducks.
What This Means for the Future
At this point in the season, the Ducks are pretty well out of playoff contention, so it affects the overall season very little. However, it is unfortunate for a player as young as Terry, at just 21 years old, to miss out on this time to play. No timeframe has been announced for Terry, however, this late into the season the Ducks can hope that he will be fine to train for part of the summer and be ready for training camp come next season. The Ducks have greatly struggled with the offence this season, and even losing the little offence Terry has provided could be bad for this roster.
