OTPP: Florida Panthers Management, Dominant Metro Division and More

Last Word on Sports is proud to present their hockey podcast, On the Power Play with Ben and Dave. Join Ben Kerr and Dave Gove each week as they take a look around the Hockey World focusing on the big issues of the NHL and elsewhere.

The boys are back and looking at the news from around the NHL.

OTPP: Florida Panthers Management, Dominant Metro Division and More

There have been conflicting reports about what is going on with the Florida Panthers management team.  Darren Dreger and Bob McKenzie of TSN indicate that Dale Tallon is back in control of hockey operations. The team indicates that no changes have been made. What is going on? Could the reports be wrong? Dave and Ben look to get to the bottom of it.

The boys also look at the NHL suspending Cody Eakin and Mike Hoffman. Did the department of player safety get things right? Should they have done more? Should Marc-Edouard Vlasic have been suspended?

From there the boys look at the Metropolitan Division, and the dominance of the five teams there.  Do the five already have their tickets booked for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

They also look ahead to the World Juniors.  Team Canada named their roster. Team USA suffered a big loss in Brock Boeser.  How does this effect the tournament? Who are the teams to beat in this year’s event?

All that and more in this edition of On the Power Play.
