A report from DetroitHockey.Net on Thursday stated the domain names lasvegasdesertknights.com, vegasdesertknights.com and desertknightshockey.com have already been registered to Moniker Privacy Services. Moniker is also the company that registered the domain for the leagues’ NHL.com.
Foley also confirmed that the team has registered domain names for Silver Knights, and Golden Knights.
The name “Desert Knights” is not yet the team’s official nickname. It’s still possible this “Knights” domain registration is just a “plan B” in case option “A” were to fall through. Foley did confirm earlier this month he was still considering 3 variations of “hawks” for the teams’ nickname. The name “Nighthawks” is believed to still be on the board as of Aug. 12.
An official nickname is expected to be announced prior to the start of the regular season in early October.
After nearly 2000 votes “Desert Knights” are clear favourite with 50% of the vote, other two ___ Knights tied at 25% https://t.co/xMk8Z2fwXK
