Jhonas Enroth Signs With KHL Club Dinamo Minsk

KHL club Dinamo Minsk has come to terms on a one-year deal with goaltender Jhonas Enroth. Enroth has played in 153 games at the NHL, serving as a back-up goaltender in Buffalo before bouncing around to multiple teams, and eventually landing back in the AHL.

Enroth, 29, was selected in the second round, 46th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Unfortunately for Buffalo, Enroth never lived up to the hype that comes with a second round goalie selection.

Enroth played his first two seasons after being drafted with the Sabres AHL-affiliate the Portland Pirates. In his first season in Portland he went 26-23-6, had a 2.75 goals-against-average, and a .914 save percentage. He improved on all of those numbers in his second season in the AHL with a 28-18-1 record, a 2.37 goals-against-average, and a .919 save percentage.

Enroth got a single game in his second season, but lost his first NHL game. Over the course of the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons Enroth would play in 40 games, with 26 of them coming in the latter. In those 26 games he went 8-11-4 with a 2.70 goals-against-average and a .916 save percentage.

Enroth would go on to play in 77 more games with the Sabres, going 21-42-8 in the process. He played in 28 games in the 2013-14 season, going 4-17-5 with a 2.82 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage.

His last season in Buffalo in 2014-15 would see him barely crack the .900 saver percentage mark with a .903 on the season in 37 games. He went 13-21-2 during that time with a 3.27 goals-against-average. With his career not taking off the Sabres decided to part ways with Enroth and sent him to the Dallas Stars.

Enroth would end up playing in 13 games during the 2014-15 season with the Stars. He went 5-5-0 during his short-lived stint in The Lone Star state, and he had a 2.38 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage.

Enroth played with two different organizations in the last two seasons, spending one season in Los Angeles and another in Toronto. He spent the majority of last season playing in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies and the San Diego Gulls.
