The Monday night game between the Dallas Stars vs Nashville Predators has been postponed due to extreme weather conditions. The league has not yet announced anything regarding a make-up date.

Dallas Stars vs. Nashville Predators Postponed

At the advice of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, the ‘Reverse Retro Game’ between the Stars and Predators was postponed due to “extreme weather conditions that have caused significant power outages in the Dallas area.” Due to snowy weather that began early in the weekend, the state of Texas has been sent into an unusual situation. A winter storm is part of a massive system that brought snow, sleet, and freezing rain all across Texas. Millions of individuals have lost power due to the storm. In fact, the storm is so bad that they have had to shut down grocery stores, air travel, and schools for the foreseeable future.

This storm has caused new elected President Joe Biden to approve Texas’s “emergency disaster proclamation” back on Sunday. With this approval, Texas will receive federal aid to state and local response efforts where needed.

What Comes Next

Now that the Dallas Stars vs Nashville game has been postponed, there is no telltale sign of when a make-up game will be made. The storm is causing temperatures to drop into the single digits, on top of the numerous power outages. The NHL’s first complete “reverse retro game” has been cancelled. While it is a bummer, there are more critical things to worry about for the Lone Star state citizens.

The two Discover Central Division rivals are also scheduled to play on Tuesday night. At the same time, there has not been an official ruling on that game yet. The weather will have to improve significantly for them to play. A make-up date will indeed be announced in the coming week.
