The New York Islanders have announced that Anthony Duclair signed a four-year contract that carries an average annual value of $3.5 million. The Canadian native played the best hockey of his NHL career in his short stint with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season. Now he’s on Long Island for the next four seasons. Before his tenure with the Bolts, Duclair signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the San Jose Sharks. Duclair was out for most of the 2022-23 season injured. And a stacked Florida Panthers roster could no longer afford his services.
With minimal help in San Jose, Duclair potted 16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points in 56 games (o.48 points per game played). As a member of the Lightning, he scored eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in 17 games (0.88 points per game played).
