Notes From People Who Knew Rodion Amirov as He Passes
His agent, Dan Milstein, released the statement today. He acknowledged how upbeat Amirov had been since his diagnosis. It leaves the impression to the community that this can be looked at as an inspiration for others. The Maple Leaf community, such as Brendan Shanahan, reiterated how devastated everyone is as a result of this loss. He is quoted as saying: “Over the duration of his courageous battle, Rodion’s positivity inspired everyone around him.”
Kyle Dubas was another important figure to comment on Amirov. He spoke to “his unabashed positivity – even when faced with an awful diagnosis – will stay with me forever.” It seems he will leave a lasting, positive legacy upon those he touched in the hockey world. Perhaps, if even for a minute, he can help unite the hockey community around the globe, from the Ufa River to Scotiabank Arena.
What Can We All Learn
In times like these, it gives us all a chance to reflect. At one time, Amirov was an inspiring Maple Leaf Prospect, and then the terrible news. However, it is at these times when great leaders look inward, to show the path for those who will also walk it. You must always have a positive attitude, regardless of your role. Here’s to a great inspiration, who fought a tough fight. One final thought to leave with, was that from his team’s sporting director, Rinat Bashriov. “Of course, if Rodion played for us, it would be a completely different team.” Let’s hope we can all learn from this, and use it for our own betterment.
